Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 12, 2012 4:01 pm Decided to create my own thread on our house build in Spy Glass Hill, Secret Harbour. I have previously posted some info on the "Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built" thread so won't repeat too much of it again. Hopefully what I post will be of some interest and/or help to others contemplating or currently under going their own build. My Secret Harbour Build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57248 Re: Dale Alcock Build in Secret Harbour 2Jun 12, 2012 4:06 pm We're building an amalgamation of the Reflection and Archipelago with a Poppy flat attached to the back. We have most of the Reflection design with a few key changes. We got the Archipelago frontage and kitchen. Added a storage to the garage. Got rid of the Activity, moved Bed 4 across and extended the Alfresco so that it's now an upside down L shape. The Poppy flat to the back has its own Bedroom, Ensuite, Living Room, fully functional Kitchen and a veranda that will overlook the future pool. We installed stacker doors from the living to the alfresco area and finally in the Bathroom we removed the bath (wife thinks it's a dust collector) and added a second vanity. (We have two girls). Here is our final design. There was a guy in yesterday cutting the bricks for the electrical and plumbing points. Now waiting for the roof plumbing and the actual roof now. I guess they'll wait for better weather. Yeah, the storm was pretty severe where we are renting in Singleton. We are 300 meters from the beach and the wind was really coming through. We lost power for around 36 hours, got it back last night around midnight. However, wife just let me know that it's now gone again. (apparently til 5pm). Well, it could have been worse. We still have our roof. Mine should start being build in the next few weeks hopefully. Great area isn't it. It just has a community, safe feel to it. Will be interesting to see what it's all like in a few years when all the houses and proposed development down there is finished. Re: Dale Alcock Build in Secret Harbour 12Jun 19, 2012 10:05 am Welcome chris0189, Yes it is a nice area. We've lived here for several years now and decided to upgrade to Spyglass as this is the last land release in Secret Harbour and we needed a bigger house. Looking forward to when they extend the shopping centre, when ever that may be. Good luck on your build. Hopefully all approvals come through soon and they can start. It's a great feeling. Everything looks as though it's progressing well. And it seems to be good weather in Perth? I'm currently in the UK and it's as cold as the Perth winter - it's supposed to be our summer here! Don't know about good weather in Perth. With gale force winds, rain and min temps around 4 degrees, it could be better. Re: Dale Alcock Build in Secret Harbour 17Jun 21, 2012 4:11 pm Well, we had some lovely sunshine and warmth yesterday and the day before! But now it is back to rain and slippers. Not good to hear there are still storms in Perth - I thought we'd seen the back of them! Jemima. Dale Alcock Homes. We love building. Electrical and plumbing done. The inside of the house is now dried out and cleaned up. Rendering started yesterday. Our SS has told us that it will take approximately 6 - 7 days to do as the guys have over 600 sq meters to render. The side fences have been completed apart from one back section which the pool guys will be using to install the pool. Speaking of which, we had a meeting with the council about the pool yesterday. Hopefully pool installation can start in about a months time. All in all, things are going well. I have to say that our SS and CLO have both been fantastic. It's one of the reasons why I chose to build with DAH again. I'll try to get some pics done and get them posted.
