So I've been stalking on here for a while and finally decided to start posting.

My partner and I are building our first place out in Aveley (Vale Estate),
building with Celebration Homes...

So far everything's been alright - just keeping on top of the builders and finance guys.. espec. when our sales guy went on holidays for 2 weeks just when we were sorting out plans and contracts

We're building the Milano with Alfresco on a corner cottage block and we just had titles issued about a week ago! Apparently people have been waiting since the start of the year for titles in this stage and we just jumped on the bandwagon right at the end!

So, I'll post up plans shortly - we've got prestart tomorrow so got a few last minute choices to look at tonight! We only started the process mid September so its all moving very fast for us.

Interested to hear from anyone else building with Celebration Homes or ABN Group on here? What are build times like at the moment? We've been told that once we have council our block should go down in Jan and we will be in by mid year 2012! Fingers crossed :o

Here's our plans!

[ img ]

http://tinypic.com/r/t0jo9d/5

What we upgraded / changed:
Increased the kitchen to a U shape - stole it from the Virtue Display with more bench space :D
Added an entertainment recess in the living area
Upgraded the Alfresco with raised ceilings, downlights and fan!

I'll put up a few colour choices tomorrow after our pre-start meetup! We only signed our building contracts on the weekend and only got our prestart folder Thursday so it's been a very busy weekend choosing colours, visiting showrooms and display homes!

Plans are great - haven't seen one like that before. I presume you have the cottage block with the garage at the back? I like the thearte room at the front too :) Can't wait to see your colour choices :)

One thing I could maybe suggest is putting a door/doors on the theatre entrance? One thing we didn't do that we really regret

Hey Zarli,

Yeah we figured we would do something at a later stage like adding a half nib wall or something as simple as a shelving unit to divide the entry space up.

It was one of those things which we didn't quite have the money to include at this stage...

Prestart done! I'll put up a few pics of some choices later - very exciting and we only blew the bank by $3k :) Who knew powerpoints were $50 each!

Nice choices!! Feature tile is gorgeous!

$50 for a powerpoint is GREAT! Ours were $70! And apparently our builder gets them cheap as they own the electrical company they get them from!

Good luck with your build!!! :)

Thanks! Didn't even plan that feature tile but it was the first I saw in the display centre and wanted it straight away.

I see your building with DAH :) I love their designs but their just outside my budget unfortunately, settled with the next rung down in the ABN chain  Maybe for the next house eh?

How quick has your build been with DAH? Surely they are comparable to Celebration as it's the same group of companies.

We were the same, we have no door on our theatre/laundry/study but I guess its something we can add later when we actually have the $$...

I love your colour choices ::kiss:: Especially the bathroom colours with the feature stone tile...its awesome! Looking forward to seeing it all come together (as I am sure you are...) Any idea on when you have a start date..? Do you live nearby so you can keep an eye on things?

Welcome to H1 :D I'm looking forward to following your build.

I love your colour choices, you have picked the same floor tile for your bathroom/laundry/ensuite as me :z:

Sooo I just found out that our alfresco upgrade package offer was just revised to include more freebies....

We paid $1950 to raise the alfresco ceiling, add down lights and a fan.. but now they have a summer alfresco deal which includes that as well as the option to add stacker doors, or an integrated clipsal audio package!

http://www.celebrationhomes.com.au/go/p ... thly-offer

Checking in with our prestarter now - I'm hoping out of the goodness of their hearts they will add in that clipsal audio package for us since we only just signed just before this new deal came out!!

Yeah the feature tile is one of my favourite choices so far - The pre-starter told us that it's a new tile and I didn't even see it when I was out at the tiling place (Crosby Tiles)..

We've got finance approval due by end of next week, settlement a few weeks later and hopefully it won't be too long until it starts. We've already signed building contracts and finished prestart so it should be a quick journey! (fingers crossed!).

We actually live close to the CBD at the moment (yeah - moving out to Aveley is going to be a big adjustment haha especially since I work in Subiaco!). But we love the drive out to the swan valley so I'm sure we will be out every few weeks!

Looking good! Am going to be following you as you go along...we're basically around the same stage now so we'll be matching time for time with you!
Love the exterior colours you've chosen, btw... :)

Fingers crossed you get your alfresco package :-) sounds like a good deal! If you ever want some progress pics taken of the build just let me know, I'm happy to get some for you ( a H1 member did this for me when we built out here too!)

Soo.. Don't think this is going to happen. Apparently because we are part of last months sales drive we aren't able to receive the new package. Hmmm.. Leaving comments offline as I don't want to incriminate myself with defamation
