How much would you pay Ed, Are you aware that I am in Sydney? I actually need 3 doors with a double track so that I can access my laundry appliances. This is where 'ít is all so hard' comes in. However feel free to contact me if you are still interested. Quote: My concerns would be mostly the weight of the glass from both a usability perspective and mounting. This is the main problem as the Hafele salesman I initially spoke to gave me a rough estimate of the weight and it was huge. I cannot remember the exact figure but the glass also had to be cut to fit the mounts and it appeared to be a specialised job. I would be happy to be proven wrong. Also, I do not want runners on the floor and this adds another dimension to the level of difficulty. I don't have these doors today... but I can design and make them if there is sufficient demand. And that would be at a sensible price... "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. I will PM you on the weekend (if I can work out how to do this as I am technically challenged ) with further details and pictures (Oh my god! Another challenge! ). However I am a little confused as to the logistics when you are in a different state. However, at this stage I am desperate. (Oops, I shouldn't have said that; now the price will go up ) Re: glass door 17Mar 14, 2009 3:29 am paddy Any idea on the pricing muzzman, I am sure quite a few people on the forum would love to get a few for their houses. How many could you bring back with you What sort of pricing are we looking at Ed..... very tempting indeed Cheers Michael They are from a company called Foaporte, based in Italy, and according to their web site all the doors are hand-made to measure. You could probably email them to get a price, but if Ed can make them, then I would say it would be better to support local business!! And you'd be paying a lot less shipping! After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! The solution is simple then. I'll just have to return to Italy. I spent 10 weeks there in 2007 and I have been looking for a reason to return. Seriously, I am still looking for a solution but I have collected a file of Australian web sites while searching. None are quite suitable for what I want as I am determined not to have tracks on the floor but they may suit other readers of this thread. Some are: http://www.fethers.com/Fethers/Fethers_gwt.html http://www.mfgs.com.au/prod_rsmanual_sliding.shtml http://www.tornex.com.au/ http://www.customcote.com.au/interior-s ... doors.html There are many more of a similar style if you search. Re: Internal Glass Sliding Doors 19Apr 27, 2009 11:34 pm muzzman I love it! Very elegant and classic with modern touch. Okay, then the choice is really about the build quality of the door itself which means the brand name.
