They dont have any tender appointments in may i think this might will delay our building i was told they can start in july which i think now which will not be possible because contract signing happen after 4 weeks after tender our land is titling in may not happy with their delay in appointments normally tender 2 weeks after colur selection. We had the call today to arrange our colour selection,
Our Bank has approved the land purchase so it is full steam ahead. Re: Arden Developments 191Apr 13, 2017 8:48 am g33kerb0t Hi Jeeta, I am new to home1 but i've been following this forum for months until i finally decided to sign up today. I am also building the votivo with Arden and am just about to go into my colours appointment. I have read mixed feedback from other forums here about supplying your own stuff. How did you get Arden to agree to install you own supplied ovens? What else can you ask them to install if you supply them? I am also thinking about changing my switches to clipsal (strato) - did Arden credit you back all the included switches if you are going to supply your own? How does that work? Thanks. Hi g33kerb0t, RE the Ovens: I pretty much told them, I don't want a free standing oven and wanted a double oven tower. I wasn't happy with the cost of placing in ovens via them so wanted to provide my own smeg ovens. In saying that I still got a cook top via arden. I got no resistance from Arden about supplying my own ovens, except to be told take the risk of that product (which is fair enough). I have provided Arden with details of my ovens and integrated microwave and they have designed the cabinets accordingly. Re the switches: you do not get a credit for the included switches, I believe as they cost next to nothing? Good luck with things, keep us posted how you go! Re: Arden Developments 193Apr 13, 2017 7:01 pm laijer Hey Jeeta, Did Arden credit you anything for the freestanding oven? Yeah, I think just over $2k. I'm actually worse off for doing it, but much more comfortable with the end result I'm envisioning. How are you going with things? We've postponed our contract signing as our land titles are expected to be delayed to July now. No point signing the contract and having to shell out 5% of the build for it to just sit there doing nothing. We had quite a few post tender variations done, some were at our request and some were necessary requirements like insulation batts upgrades to meet energy ratings (R2.0 to R2.5 for walls + R3.5 to R4.1 for ceiling), extra cavity for evap cooling ducts to ground floor, the $9.7k corner cavity sliding ezy reveal doors to the alfresco had to be reduced from 3.5m wide to 3m but remains the same price and also had to swap the hebel above the garage and alfresco to foam cladding due to “engineering reasons”... Not happy about the last two. We enquired about upgrades to the cooker and exhaust fan, wanted the TRA93BL cooker, but Arden came back with a price $1.5k higher than some retailers and they didn't mention anythin about getting credit for their included cooker, so that's why I was curious. Re: Arden Developments 196Apr 14, 2017 7:43 am fnt0603 Hi, was wondering has anyone build using the Hebel for their Arden homes? currently they are having a promotion free upgrade to build with Hebel? been hear positive and negatives feedback about it online? my main concern is, is the feel and look for the Hebel, compared to a brick rendered. does it look the same or fake or different? Any feedback would be much appreciated. thanks Did you decide on Hebel? Arden Developments 198Apr 14, 2017 8:06 am laaa to have the floor to ceiling tiles in the master ensuite is $2,558. the kitchen island bench is costing $1k to get rid of the wood breakfast area and have it extended caesar stone with a caesar stone waterfall in a category 1. most of the upgrade costs is because we are upgrading the facade ($15k) and upgrading floors to a category 7 engineered timber ($10k) What does the stone bench look like extended? I read it has a line/join in it if over 3metres. Anyone choose the Tempo wide raw timber boards as their flooring? What did it cost? |
