So we are waiting for them so sort that before contracts are signed and we feel comfortable about the sale. Xo Re: Coral Daydream 32 1006Apr 24, 2017 7:49 pm Things have been pretty slow at our place until last weekend. We now have a fence down one side of the house. And work on our front lanscapinghas begun. We are getting a 3 tiered stepping deck leading into our portico made our of blackbutt. The excavation happened yesterday. Thank goodness we didn't attempt to do it by hand. What they thought would be about an hour job took about 5 due to the enormously hard rock they hit. Some of the full was taken out the back and spread to give us a better idea of what our back will look like. Most of that fill will be removed soon when we get our pool. This is right where the Pool will go, right off the alfresco. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The back view. Re: Coral Daydream 32 1007Apr 24, 2017 8:04 pm I love the idea of the stepped deck out front! And a little jealous of the fire pit out back! Can't wait to see it all come together!! Re: Coral Daydream 32 1008Apr 24, 2017 8:11 pm Looks great, did you get Coral to concrete your portico? Re: Coral Daydream 32 1009Apr 24, 2017 8:23 pm dougang287 Looks great, did you get Coral to concrete your portico? Yes, they concreted and tiled it for us and very glad we did. We are surprised at how much we use this area. We have a couple of chairs and a table there and watch the kids play with the neighbours out the front while we have coffee or a gin and tonic. Lol Am hoping the decking will extend this area even more. Re: Coral Daydream 32 1010Apr 25, 2017 6:15 am Oh Bec it all sounds so amazing, I can`t wait to see it finished! That blackbutt decking to the portico will look a treat! Good to hear that the kids have made friends with the neighbours. Sounds like you`ve been able to kick back for a bit and relax. It will be even more relaxing once your pool goes in, you`ll be able to float around with your gin and tonic, you`ll never need to go on holidays again. We`ve just started building a screening and bench seat out the back of our alfresco while we wait for the bob cat guy to come back and prep for turf our the front. Hubs framed it all up yesterday afternoon after work and today we are hoping to get the slats on. It will screen off the ugly side of our yard where the tank is and give us some privacy for when we entertain. It will be nice to be able to finally use our alfresco and feel comfortable. I`ve found a beaut dining table for out there too! My Homeone Thread - Re: Coral Daydream 32 1011Apr 25, 2017 6:46 am Hey Bec!! Your deck sounds like it's going to be awesome! Cant wait to see the deck finished. I also can't wait to see your house finished ...well at least moved on. I have no words really it is mind boggling how some businesses stay open!!! We have sold the house for full asking price so we were chuffed. Just waiting on settlement to go through, probably next week, although they actually moved into it a couple of week ago. Our gorgeous decking stairs are taking shape and should be finished tomorrow. The top one needed to be angled slightly because the house is at an able to the road. He has done such a great job at tapering each strip to get the angle right. Such a fiddly job. After trying to contact the guy that did our driveway for 2 months, we got the contact of this fella. He gave us the quote on the Friday, then rang the next Wed when I was at work to let me know it was all formed. On the Thursday I discussed some drainage problems. That afternoon, he dug up a section of pipe, attached connectors for future work, then poured it on the Friday, doing an excellent t job. He will be back it a few weeks sealing the path and the driveway. It's all finally starting to fake shape. The concrete paths around the house look so good! I'll have to get my lazy butt out for a walk and have a looksee. We've been busy out the back with our screening. Our bob cat guy needs to come back and clear off the front so we can lay turf. My Homeone Thread - Re: Coral Daydream 32 1019May 11, 2017 4:32 pm The stairs look insanely good! I've been thinking about doing something like this at our place... so you mind if I ask the cost? I noticed you have gravel below too. Guessing this is for drainage and to stop the soil from moving given the slope to your door. We put some geocloth underneath that too so hoping that will be enough to save it. Lol. All up it has cost us about $4000ish, which included about 5-6 hours of excavation and hole digging through rock, plus oiling. It ended up costing a bit more than we though because the blackbutt doesn't come in standard size lengths so we ended up having to get a fair bit more so we had the whole lengths we needed. We are planning on cladding our garden/retaining wall beside it with the black butt so should have more than enough for that to go. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 15040 Hi so sorry for the late reply.
