We have just done a drive by and noticed a lot of the air con ducting has been installed. But we also thought 1. Rawson advised us we could choose where the vents would be placed......??.?. 2. We saw the conduit for the air con has been placed outside running down our bricks to the aircon sitting outside our laundry ..!!! We are extremely annoyed by this - none of the plans show anything other than downpipes running down the walls. This is just lazy/pathetic work - someone stuffed up so they decided to fix it this way. My husband is furious. Can you please confirm if anyone else has their aircon piping etc running down outside the bricks?? merryxmas to all A/C pipework is really installed outside on the brick facade. Needs to be from condenser unit straight up to roof space. Its not lazy work, just how it really is done. For the others who are in the planning phase. Be aware where you place the external condenser. Pipes cannot transfer from brick to cladding or go thru the roof or eaves. Check elevation drawings if placement works, the a/c pipes are not shown there (something that they dont tell you) Calvin Balmoral 34 MKI Majestic Facade (Syd) - Handover 16.11.15 687Jan 07, 2017 6:53 pm Just finished 2/3 of the backyard garden bed with these 2 beauties Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Will be buying 8x lavender tube stocks next weekend at Dural to complete the North-West side and the rest of the herbs, blueberry and 10x marigolds to complete my herb and fruit garden on the South-West side of the garden bed of the backyard.... Things didn't get communicated properly and often misunderstood, mistakes were many and duty of care from suppliers & contractors are quite low. Sadly, almost every thread I have read in this Forum is like that. Builders big and small seem to play the same game: they're quick to lure you in, they are slow to respond, and they are happy to charge excessively for any variation you dare to raise. We're not exactly newbies. This is our third build. But first time with Rawson. Thanks in advance! Agree with a lot of what you wrote, but must say when it comes to variations I've been reasonably happy with the prices Rawson are charging. Sure a few things (shower niche for example) are a bit much but the bulk have been far lower than what I was expecting. Even changing to 40mm Caesarstone bench tops was only marginally more than I could 'do it myself' for. Where I think they are expensive is the upgrade packages. For my place I was able to get all the package inclusions that I wanted (about 2/3rds of them) for about 1/2 the price the upgrade package would have cost. Hi AJW, Does that mean you went for Key Inclusions package instead of Lux?! My partner and I were wondering why not go for Key and then do the upgrades ourselves. We think that'll be cheaper but we're not sure. When you get the house, is that space empty and you've had to buy the unit or do they provide something? Basically, is that niche an empty hole when you get it? We got to our presentation on Wednesday and was wondering where the Fox box would sit (and also how neatly you can get the cables to the power/data outlets). Bear Hi Bear, The space is a niche for TV and home theatre. It's a bare wall with the powerpoints, data point, foxtel point and a conduit to hide the cables connected to the TV hung on the wall. Yes, the floating cabinet is from Ikea which we measured and got the niche width adjusted with an allowance of 10cm on each side to ensure the unit will fit when we DIY install the cabinet. Water bill doubled for the last quarter). Though the summer's heat had taken its toll with the lily pillies and little pollies (limited drip system), so far the italian lavender stock I bought for $2.80 each are still alive and well. Sadly, the little magnolia gems, bottle brushes and grevilleas are still in their pots and have suffered immensely. Not too sure if they'll make it through next month when we have some weekends free to do work in the garden. Side gates will be installed next week then concrete sealing for driveway and garage floor will be scheduled. Would have loved spending our own money to replace the remaining boundary fence (Front - South(1/1), Side - North(2/3)) without worrying about the neighbour's share, but I'd rather spend that money to do our front fence - slatted fence with automatic sliding gate and side entry gate soon after the money tree's slightly recovered from heat of expenses!
