Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: Fridge in walk in pantry 13Jun 17, 2016 12:20 am I actually opted not to, despite originally planning it - the sheer amount of resources regarding the flow of a functional kitchen around the "kitchen triangle" and the proximity and flow between sink, fridge and stovetop/oven put me off the idea of making the fridge too hard to get to. If your fridge is in the Butler's pantry and you have a sink in there and a benchtop for food preparation along with your microwave, kettle, coffee maker and thermomix in that said butler's pantry, it just works. Hence a butlers pantry as opposed to a bog standard WIP. Whats the point of the normal kitchen then? Every house needs a kitchen. We use our kitchen too. It has benchtops for food preparation, a stove and oven, a sink and a dishwasher. It has the standard island bench and a large food pantry and cupboards for pots and pans, glasses and cups and containers and cutlery and the like. As I said, everybody needs a kitchen. For entertaining, a butler's pantry and associated entertainment mess can be hidden away behind a closed door if required. Whats the point of the normal kitchen then? For us the normal kitchen is where we will cooked, eat (at the bench for breakfast/lunch) and clean. The butlers pantry is for storage and preparation. It is also where we will have the coffee machine and store all the appliances. Still not 100% sure it will work. Will find out in about 2 weeks time when we move in and I fitout the pantry.
