Render and electrical both done! Oven in and cook top waiting to go in. Not much left to do at all! So stoked. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The grey came out much darker than expected. Definitely want to clad it in something light that matches with our light colour scheme.. If anyone has any recommendations of who to use for cladding then please let me know Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building with HomegroupWA in Spearwood: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73170 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 263Mar 20, 2016 3:17 pm jasmineandjason jasmineandjason bryzza moving so quickly, really like the tiles .......... love to see a pic of your master bath and wardrobe together just to see the difference between yours and mine I'll take a pic next time I'm in Got some pics through the window lol Wardrobe is huge ! !!! Lots of hanging space Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 264Mar 20, 2016 11:54 pm So much progress! Looks amazing! I really like the dark grey. It will contrast nicely with the woodland grey fencing. Are you still expecting PCI next month? Looks amazing! I really like the dark grey. It will contrast nicely with the woodland grey fencing. Are you still expecting PCI next month? So much progress at yours too I think I would like it more if it weren't identical to the HG over the road haha I emailed them for an update last night so hopefully I'll hear back soon Building with HomegroupWA in Spearwood: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73170 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 266Mar 21, 2016 1:40 pm Oh is it exactly the same? I didn't even notice That's annoying that HG let that happen, they should look at the other houses on the street, and at least give you an option to change. Loving your tiles though. Makes me second thing spending a bomb on wood floors when your tiles look amazing! Hopefully we reach lock up this week and then 8-10 weeks til handover - seems like forever still Blog: https://houseamour.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/houseamour/ Our build thread with Ben Trager Homes: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77796 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 267Mar 21, 2016 4:08 pm [quote="ak11"]Oh is it exactly the same? Yes they should have let us know I will feel better about it when the post is cladded though! The tiles have definitely grown on me! Still stressing about keeping the grout clean though your wooden floors are going to look amazing and be so worth it!! How much did they end up costing you? Are you putting in skirting boards? I think I'm going to email a few places for quotes this arvo. 8-10 weeks that's not too bad - I'm sure it will come around quickly I just heard back from HG and they still say that PCI will be 6-8 weeks from tile meeting and can't give a closer estimate. All the remaining trades are scheduled for this week and next week though - besides the garage door which is early April. So annoying I had requested horizontal cabinet handles everywhere and our pre start girl only put them in the kitchen.. Wish I picked up on it earlier! We are going to do out two portico pillars, but probably later down the track. Our floors ended up costing us 14.5k for timber and carpet - fully installed. The timber includes scotia, so we're going to have that and see if we want to install skirting boards afterwards. I definitely want to get skirting in the carpeted areas though. If we're in by June, I'll be happy! Oh no, how annoying! We couldn't decide on kitchen handles at prestart, so had them deleted - and are doing those after handover. All wet areas I noted horizontal placement of the handles though. Is it easy to change? At least the kitchen is done right! So exciting! Can't believe we are so close to the end!! Hopefully everything runs smoothly for you guys, and there isn't much to fix after PCI. I remember when we were sussing it out ages ago it was way more. Wish we had timber floors butttt at least I'll have some timber in my life with the decking Your front pillars will look so good cladded - already love your front elevation! That was a good idea to have the handles deleted - you will have way more to choose from. I don't mind our handles but I wish they just wrote down our requests correctly. It sucks that you have to be so diligent with going over every word in the contract as you just trust they listen to what you say. At least it's just the laundry I guess! So close! Although we will still have a bit to do before we move in.. Can't wait! Hope you are satisfied with walking around your house before lockup! We were lucky and were able to climb through a window a few times lol (with great difficulty might I add lol). xx Building with HomegroupWA in Spearwood: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73170 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 270Mar 21, 2016 6:53 pm Has anyone installed a security door on their front door? Are they even popular these days? Ugh, they are a good idea but why must they look crappy and cover the lovely front door! It was the stairs that was going to cost a bomb. 4K extra for timber - so we decided to just carpet them. All upstairs is carpet anyway. Im dreading not being able to get in, but excited to know at least we're closer to moving in! I'm also worried about not having a security door! But hate the look of them...Especially when we paid so much for the door haha. Is your glass clear? We'll be installing a security door, hence why we didn't upgrade the door to much. It will be a full mesh one with no grill or bars. Just actually got the quote last week We like having the front door open to maximise the breeze through the house. Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 274Mar 21, 2016 9:08 pm We won't be getting a security door this time. Mainly because of the 1)aesthetics of the front door 2) with reverse cycle, we won't be opening the house up that much 3) I'll be installing cameras and alarm for security viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 276Mar 22, 2016 5:31 pm Natalie92 Tile Doctor did our house tiling and he did cladding Thanks Nat I will check them out Building with HomegroupWA in Spearwood: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73170 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 277Mar 22, 2016 5:44 pm ak11 Yeah we were pleasantly surprised with the cost. But hate the look of them...Especially when we paid so much for the door haha. Is your glass clear? Nah we upgraded to the non-translucent glass. It doesn't look as nice but I hated the though of people being able to see in - especially at night with the lights on. It's a tough one as the other side of our suburb is a bit dodge haha. I like having the door open to let in fresh air too! I am liking the idea of putting in a camera to see who's at the door before opening Building with HomegroupWA in Spearwood: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73170 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 278Mar 22, 2016 10:35 pm I wish we had of too! Ours is clear! I'm hoping with the portico it's not as visible from the road... We can always get it tinted afterwards though. The breeze we get coming from the south is too good not to utilise! Yeah we will definitely be putting in an alarm and cameras too Blog: https://houseamour.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/houseamour/ Our build thread with Ben Trager Homes: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77796 Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 279Mar 23, 2016 8:34 pm Cooktop and oven Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ YAAASSSS Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Tap I love you too Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the shower! the shower head is huge!
