Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Living Homes 342Jan 08, 2015 12:42 pm Thanks @newbies My land registered and settled over the break so looking forward to getting things moving Re: New Living Homes 343Jan 08, 2015 12:44 pm @JordanSpringsNovice No worries! Mine did too in Jordan Springs...I think we still need to wait for CDC Approved plans though before anything will happen and we spoke to new living before they closed and said more then likely it wont get sent until they get back and that takes 8 weeks apparently...Probably going to be late Feb or March before they even touch the land... Re: New Living Homes 344Jan 08, 2015 1:15 pm @newbies Yeah I thought it would be a couple of months. I assume we will be able to have our appointments with the electrical contractor in the mean time Re: New Living Homes 345Jan 08, 2015 2:59 pm @JordanSpringsNovice I assume they would get in contact to have all those things done but who knows lol might give them a ring when they open to find out whats happening from here... Re: New Living Homes 346Jan 09, 2015 8:13 am JordanSpringsNovice Does anyone know when head office opens up again? Is it the same day as the Masterton head office (The 15th) I am pretty sure it is the 15th cause thats when the trades start as well. Re: New Living Homes 348Jan 10, 2015 11:36 am Hi all. Congratulations to all who have their house completed and keys picked up already. We are in process of land registration at Marsden Park and will be building with NLH. Can anyone tell me how much time it took from land registration to getting Keys for the house in diffrent projects like Willowdale and Jordn Springs ? Can anyone tell me how much time it took from land registration to getting Keys for the house in diffrent projects like Willowdale and Jordn Springs ? I settled on my property June last year and still building at the moment I am maybe like one week of completion. I think the standard time frame is anywhere between 6 to 8 months Re: New Living Homes 350Jan 11, 2015 1:50 pm We are building at Jordan Springs and were told once our land registered (which happened 19th December) it's roughly 8-9 weeks while they do some site testing etc and then once the actual build commences it's 16 weeks Re: New Living Homes 351Jan 11, 2015 2:17 pm Mel_2302 We are building at Jordan Springs and were told once our land registered (which happened 19th December) it's roughly 8-9 weeks while they do some site testing etc and then once the actual build commences it's 16 weeks Hi Mel , Hopefully you get in that time frame from everyone who has build with them its close to 6 months then it 16 weeks. Re: New Living Homes 353Jan 12, 2015 4:22 pm Alot of people including myself have been advised 16 weeks to complete the build...Just wondering for those where it has taken 6-8 months was that due to weather delays or issues with NLH's? I think jns who has posted on here was about 6 months. I haven't had much of weather delays to tbh and I am over 6 months now going onto 7. Most builders do have a time frame between 4 and 8 months more the latter tho Re: New Living Homes 355Jan 14, 2015 8:15 pm I might be wrong here but doesn't the building contract state that if it goes over the 24 week build time (if that's what your particular contract States), that NLH's have to start paying you money? Re: New Living Homes 356Jan 18, 2015 3:15 pm The Ebs I might be wrong here but doesn't the building contract state that if it goes over the 24 week build time (if that's what your particular contract States), that NLH's have to start paying you money? I dont think that is the case you would have to have a look at your contract. Even if that is the case most builders give you like 50 bucks a week or around that figure and they also minus and days that rained as well Re: New Living Homes 357Jan 20, 2015 6:15 pm Hey everyone, just went an had a look at my land and have noticed that NLH has marked out the house in spray paint... Did this happen for anyone else? If so what happened after this was done? Tried speaking with NLH but didn't get a very clear answer from them... Re: New Living Homes 358Jan 22, 2015 7:31 am A question for people who have already started building. At what stage in the process did you have your appointment with the electrical contractor? My land settled around 3 weeks ago and I was wondering if it would likely be soon. Hi, This happened to our block nearly immediately once it was registered. I think it's to map out where they are laying the slab. Next step they will level your land and prep it to pour slab I think.
