Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Tender 15Mar 17, 2018 6:50 pm I'm nearly at tender which is exciting and scary at the same time. I need to follow up with my broker and Fairhaven to book my tender appointment. Still trying to save more money to cover extras and upgrades. I'm lucky that I don't have particularly expensive taste. I may need to do some adjustments if I can't fit it all in my budget. I went with as many standards as possible and I found the cat 1 choices to be pretty reasonable (you could have a nice house with all cat 1/standard items, IMO). Hey, We are building with Fairhaven too. We have our colour appointment in 3 weeks and I was just wondering (if you don't mind me asking) how much the floor upgrade to the Mondo Scotch Oak Rustic (cat 2) was? I absolutely LOVE the color and hoping its not to much. Thanks so much Courtney x Re: First Home - Fairhaven Homes - Tender 18Mar 21, 2018 2:23 pm icat2000 Thats what I thought. But I was like want this and that. etc haha. But you can rein it in. I had to do some pruning. I will most likely have to do a little pruning but better to put it all in and then remove later. For our 19 sq house the upgrade cost around $195. Colour selection was heaps of fun and their standard options were reasonable and I didn't find the upgrades to be that expensive (I'm not particularly fussy and keep reminding myself that this is my first home). My biggest change was for the bricks as I wanted a grey colour brick. For my house, the cost was around $1400 for cat 7 and $400 for off white mortar.
