I would say it is approx 7m from front door, it is the only visible ceiling join in the house. Your feedback is much appreciated I check over all plans today and it does not mention it anywhere. Your builder is the one who provides you warranty, and sometimes they do something that was missed by designers and engineers. He probably thought it was warranted. No doubt if he didn’t put in an expansion joint, you would have concerns if after a year a crack appeared in a random place along that run length. He should have discussed it with you at some point to decide where to put an expansion joint, but I think including one is reasonable.
