We hit a gigantic road block with the bank and everything fell over backwards, inside out. I don’t think it could of failed any harder than it did. The long and short of it was our application was not obtained correctly and didn’t not meet Australian Banking standards and our approval was cancelled, upon the bank re reprocessing our application there lending criteria had changed and it ruined everything. I was devastated and wanted to crawl under a rock and hide. We had to take a big step back and just breath. For all of you that know me know I love building it’s the one thing that really interests me so it was really upsetting to have to let it all go. So we sat back and spoke to different lenders trying to figure out how to port our land mortgage to a new lender and get it all happening again. Whilst we looked into this our little rental was sold and we had to move just before xmas (OMG I seriously do not recommend moving at xmas time with kids ) We received word just before Christmas from CBA we are all good to go and can move on with our build again. We then had to wait out the damn builders Christmas shut down arghhhhhh On the 12th of January I spoke to my lovely admin lady Mikaela to let her know we can get our show back on the road. We hit a speed bump when estimating had a brain fart and tried to apply a decent price increase to our contract, an email to our awesome sales man James and a return email from the director advising our contract will be reinstated at its original value really made my day. The director went out of his way to email us and it was so nice to be treated with respect and kindness. So then the wait for the contract to be posted out started and finally it arrived today. It’s all signed and has been posted back, CBA have been amazing and we have our valuation booked for tomorrow morning and are aiming for full finance approval late next week. That’s our story, warts and all. Holy sh*t it’s been a massive battle and I just didn’t have it in me to post up what was happening until we knew we could fix it all. I have been following a huge amount of builds in the back ground and I’m so pleased I can actively post again without feeling like I’m holding back on the details of our mess. On a exciting note our eldest daughter started high school, our 4th and 5th children started kindy one day a week and we got a puppy Thank you for all the kind messages too, I’m seriously excited to get this house started now Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ one signed contract ready to be posted Oh tribe I’m so glad you are ok you had me worried!!! How’s that landscaping coming on? Yeah we had a bit of a run through the brambles and had to shake it all off. All good now which is awesome. We actually got our second pup yesterday she is very cute and teddy doesn’t know if he wants to chew her to pieces, lick her silly or just love her I’ll get a pic of them together today. What did you buy? 10-12 months isn’t bad at least your over the crazy stage. How is your son with the dog? Re: Emperor 310 - Bold Living - Scenic Rim QLD 175Feb 10, 2018 7:54 am Tribe7 WifeofHunza tribe you are back..... was so worried! life is full of so many ups and downs, but at least you are back on the up! hope the first day of high school and kindy went well, it is a busy busy life you lead! Hello WOF, How is everything going with your build now? Did you get through the engineers with your beam? Have you started a thread yet? Agree 100% life has many twists and turns it’s just frustrating when those are beyond our control. Lucy is on the fence about high school, how did your daughter go? I have to admit I like busy it’s the waiting around that’s driving me nuts. 🤭 We have finally moved out of the house to be demolished and then another small curve ball was thrown re the deck being to close to the fence. aaaah - we don't have neighbours on that side of the house so it should not matter, so we are going to have to argue that point later and get a different approval. Anyway all being well and good we should be demolished and starting in 2-3 weeks .....better be or I am going to lose it! Our builder is great though and I have no complaints there. Just the whole process driving me nuts. The beam is all sorted and the room will be gigantic ..... god only knows how I am going to fill this place..... but I will have fun shopping!!!! Miss 13 started year 8 this year and is so happy, only challenge is where we are staying is further away from school so the alarm goes off far to early for my liking. Lucy will transition slowly the first year is a massive change ( I would not like to be starting High school again - too stressful) Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 176Feb 10, 2018 7:47 pm Hi wifeofhunza. The refund will be awesome and put to good use but it’s silly you have to pay it to start with. Any idea on when you might start? Hey daisy, Congrats on your land purchase (and sorry for the delayed reply) Thank you kindly, we are really looking forward to getting our house started and seeing our selections come together. Our experience with Bold has been fantastic, we have 5 children so it’s always a bit of a battle trying to find a design that suits us but Bold have bent over backwards to accommodate our structural changes, millions of upgrades and the fact we are a fair distance away from North Lakes. They let me do all our colour selections from home. I did my own electrical plan and asked for a few unusual items like a coffered entry ceiling and a skylight to the kitchen and it wasn’t a hassle at all. We have built before with Metricon and we had a fantastic build but they are very rigid and holy cow expensive for upgrades, it was a huge shock going from Metricon process to Bolds because Bold are so much easier to deal with and very considerate. Please feel free to ask anything you would like to know I’m more than happy to help PS Wife of H is building in Vic (am dying to see her floor plan) Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 179Feb 10, 2018 9:04 pm Tribe7 daisy1989 Followed your topic now. My CS was also super responsive and being patient answering all questions as we are building the first time. I don’t expect everything will go fool proof later down the track but will see how they deal with issues. Have heard some people having a few issues with them during the build and after PCI so far :s P.s. love the way you always reply to others comments/questions very thoughtfully and clearly in plain language. I find it hard to understand all buidling glossary and abbreviations T___T Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 180Feb 11, 2018 7:01 am daisy1989 Hi wifeofhunza. Which builder did u go with? Hi Daisy, We are in Melbourne and building a traditional 2 story weatherboard - Highview Homes. Such lovely people. Our challenges have been around planning permits and special building overlays. WoH 1 4521 Hi all. Anyone know when the $11,000 limit was set in legislation for renovations in QLD? Ive been renovating for 5 years now and this was the limit back then.
