Browse Forums Building A New House Re: How long for each stage of construction? 7Aug 14, 2017 7:22 pm How long is a piece of string... Ours is a relatively complicated build, with split level and heaps of retaining. 5/4/17 - site start Easter Break in between 12/5/17 - slab complete 17/5/17 - frame complete Formal lock up still not complete - roof has been on since end of May, bricking has been 98% complete for 3 weeks, plasterboard is all in and flooring is commencing this week, and cabinetry is scheduled to go in next week. There was a 6 week delay through June / Jul for an issue with our garage guttering. They continued to do all the internal rough ins though; so at least it wasn't completely wasted. Brickwork has taken over 3 weeks when projection was 6 days. I think our site manager has had a family emergency too in the last few weeks, so that hasn't helped. Not unless you have managed to put it as a special condition into the contract somehow. 1 6155 The fastest thing a builder will do is bank your cheque, those systems work perfectly with lightning speed, everything else is slow burn. Just the way it is. 1 8706 1 4695 |
