We were hoping that we'd miss the issues that some others were having with Coral at the admin stage... but 'oh no!' We too, got hit! Coral had forgotten to include the 'build to boundry' council fee in our tender and called to advise of the extra $932 fee that we now had to cough up. Instead of admitting fault, they blamed the issue on some changes we made to the house plan 3+ months ago - before we had even signed anything. After we investigated and found out they were trying to pull the wool over our eyes, they changed the reason to something different. We went back and forth, and in the end we still have to pay the fee on our 'fixed price' contract. Gahhhhhhhhh! Fixed price contract hahah Good joke... There is so much fine print and BS that Coral has snuck into their contracts that their prices are so far from fixing price it's not even funny... I'm fighting a losing battle here myself with our issues Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 95Oct 13, 2017 2:43 pm caydenn i hear ya! They advertise the fixed price contract as a way to get you through the door. But when you sign, it's anything but. Your issues are pretty bad - and you've had a few... flooring and retaining are big costs 😩. I hope you guys get a win! Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 96Oct 13, 2017 7:43 pm Love your choices sorry to hear about admin problems I must say our was lengthy with ongoing drama but touch wood cost wise our fixed price contract has been just that hoping I haven't jinxed us now Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 98Oct 24, 2017 4:35 pm We paid around $4500 for build to boundary then once the slab was down when realized it certainly wasn’t built to boundary at all . When we raised it they immediately credited us $3100 . So, if we didn’t check it they’d have kept the money ... not having much luck with coral at the moment with our build either . Bathroom issues, plumbing issues , leaking water from roof ... grr Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 99Oct 24, 2017 8:53 pm jamique oh dear! That's silly - how'd they get that wrong and not build to boundry? You really have to be on the ball and check absolutely everything I've realised. That would peeve me right off if i paid 4.5k and didnt get what i asked for. I'd request the entire amount back!!!! wow! I just had a look at your photos of the bathroom 😟 i would not be happy with that at all 😠 Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 100Oct 25, 2017 2:58 pm Dylandbrooke @jamique oh dear! I just had a look at your photos of the bathroom 😟 i would not be happy with that at all 😠 Well they didn’t give a reason why it wasn’t done . They have an immediate partial refund but we are still almost 2k out of pocket . The reason they didn’t give a full refund was because they said they still spent for council approval and also made modifications to the eaves and also extra piering to the base ... which in the end we didn’t need because they didn’t actuallly build to boundary ... in light of all the new issues we have had I now feel like challenging the partial refund . We spent close to 2 years in a process with TA. It was horrible..... we got to tender, and the first cut was 50% over our budget which "they care such about meeting ". We… 18 27321 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
