I really love the crisp white and will have that too. The timber features will be beautiful, have you seen the who did it pendants? How’s progress this week? Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 145Feb 21, 2018 10:27 pm Thanks tribe7 We have had a bit of progress this week. Mostly electrical rough-ins.. all our windows are in now, and our front door as well. Meanwhile we are having trouble choosing ceiling fans.. who would have thought it would be a hard decision. haha! im trying not to get distracted now with pendants.. they can become an obsession. Have already chosen them all, so don't want to be tempted. Yours are so pretty! Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 146Feb 21, 2018 10:47 pm Pics on your next visit please . Did you get a hold of your electrician to add any extras? Ceiling fans are hard to pick because they are a big item in the ceiling but vary so much. We went white to blend this time. What are you thinking? I haven’t looked since I brought mine as I’m not playing the regret game, plus Mr T would string me up yours are perfect, don’t sweat your choices they flow beautifully. Ceiling fans is what we added.. and i think a couple of extra powerpoints. We realised we didnt have any in the hallway. i don't really like fans, but my partner convinced me. Will probably get black, something simple and contemporary... don't really like the fancy looking ones. im still completely confused though... while many look the same, they have huge price differences. What brand to get?? Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 148Feb 23, 2018 7:03 pm Cant wait to see your ensuite gr8ly, especially that LED strip and I would love to have a garden like that! so tranquil. Glad your build is starting to pick up some place! Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 151Mar 25, 2018 3:41 pm Thought it was about time i did an update... Nothing much has been happening due to the SS changes, and defects in between. So posting pictures of our progress will only depress me Hoping this week we will be finally back on track with everything. Fingers crossed! We had a few dramas.. the first and continuing issue is that Valeco are refusing to move our hot water solar panel that was put in the wrong section of roof. They have completely ignored our council approved plans and variation notes specifying what we wanted, and emails literally a week before with head office on the location of the panel and what we expected to happen. The reason for this is that we had planned to add solar panels after hand over, and where they have placed the water panel is smack bang in the middle of the roof where our electric panels were going to go. Because of this, our solar installer says it is now impossible to get what we want without having to pay an extra 2-3K with higher wattage panels. Based on our design, there actually isn't that much usable panel space. Not claiming responsibility for any wrong doing, Valeco have flat out refused to move it and quite rudely too. They did not once contact us (from head office, SS or installer) in relation to deviating from our plan, or even apologised once it was installed in the wrong spot. The excuse they gave us first was it wasn't going to fit (our installer said otherwise), after a couple of weeks of silence, they then gave a second excuse.. that they rely on their installer to position the solar panels in the best spot. Yes it was the best spot - for our panels after hand-over. Don't worry about our actual agreed plans Valeco. We have also discovered that there have been many deviations from our approved plans with additional bulkheads, lazy plumbing, and repositioned aircon vents - all without consultation or discussion. Very very disappointed. There is never an apology and there's never any communication about it unless we bring it up multiple times. I am hoping with our new SS that things will be rectified. He has come into this with a long list of defects and problems. And this is the first one (other than our temporary SS) that has bothered to call us with actual updates. We are now at least 2 months behind because of continual mistakes and communication issues with them. Trying to remain positive, but it is incredibly frustrating. Everyone should do themselves a favour and hire your own inspector for peace of mind. In saying all of this, Valeco have been slowly rectifying their mistakes, and over the next few months i'm sure we will left with a beautiful home. However until they actually rectify their mistakes for our water panel and other deviations, it will be hard to recommend them. Working as a professional marketer, i know it would be in their best interest to right their wrongs or be left with a lot of negative feedback. Bricking is now completed, and waiting for cladding this week. There's a lot. Sorry for such a negative post, but you might understand why i've been quiet. Anyway next week i'll hopefully have a lot of positives to say. i am still optimistic. You would think with all that paperwork backing you up, they would be quick to rectify their mistakes! What a shame and a pain for you. I understand how hard it is to update when nothing is happening. I hope your SS pulls through and they start to fix their issues. Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 155Mar 25, 2018 7:52 pm Such a shame to hear they are still dragging there feet Gr8ly . It is disheartening and down right awful to see nothing happening. Positive news about the news SS though, I hope he turns out to be a good man with a keen eye for detail and efficient too. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 157Mar 25, 2018 8:26 pm Sorry to hear about more difficulties for your build gr8ly. It does sound like your new SS is at least giving you a sense of dealing with some of the issues and communicating with you in a more timely and positive manner. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly from here on in and as you say, they work harder to keep you happy as customers! Our third [and final] SS has been a pleasure to work with after the non-existent second one and the rude first one who never did anything. I'll be updating my thread over the Easter weekend - there's been a lot of progress [finally!!!] at our end. My thread can be found here - I hope! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=89313 Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 158Mar 25, 2018 8:35 pm hi joggles good to hear from you that's awesome you're getting some progress. I bet those views are amazing upstairs! all it takes is an awesome SS to get things happening. That's what im hoping will happen with our build now. We have had 4 or 5 SS already. Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 159Mar 26, 2018 2:04 pm Sorry to hear of your dramas. Seems happy customers is not high on the list for most builders. Hope your SS turns out great and you get a positive outcome! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 160Mar 26, 2018 3:14 pm Thanks bridgetwitch - yep seems that way... but they will are more than happy to send through their stage invoices quicker than you can say invoice. What the customer wants? Not a high priority. I wish they all worked as hard as they do in the beginning to get us to sign a contract. Anyway hopefully it all works out. Same for yours as well I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34241 6 55177 A quick update, we didn't have site start before Easter. Summit can't seem to give me a day when they are scheduled to begin, so I'm left with a vague "within 10-20… 4 26738 |
