Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 61Sep 20, 2017 1:09 pm Ours is 41m long too. Luckily the developer put in our rear fence as we are on the edge of the estate. We have just started looking into fence quotes. I don't want to know the figure hahaha. 97 would prob give me a stroke Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 62Sep 20, 2017 2:24 pm gr8ly Tribe7 Love the pic it's hilarious, I'll have to add my bones to that sofa at the rate I'm going . Talk about a moment of stupidity how did they forget to apply for the relaxations? I hope you get the approval so you can have some more back yard space. Our set back is 10m which is fine because our block is 97m long can't wait to pay for that fence 🤦🏼♀️ hahaha! make yourself comfortable! I think i'll be sitting on that sofa for some time yet. Apparently they said their system didn't pick it up.. massive oversight. Effectively we have lost at least another month. Im hoping they can make some time up at build time. 97metres!!? that is heaven! enough room for an olympic sized pool or tennis court. Sounds rad! One of the benefits of this estate, is that they include fencing... less arguments with neighbours i guess... although im sure they added the cost to the price of the block though.[/ Nope I'm off the couch and dancing Gr8ly I got an update this morning that drafting have amended the plans and our pricing is done. We will have everything this afternoon God damn my budget better be ok because I love my ensuite tile. Surely council won't take that long to approval the relaxation? Have council approved your plumbing and drainage and has the certifier approved the plans? From memory our block is 89m on one side, 97m on the other and 47m wide, we do have a crappy batter though. Pool will go in up near the house and a sunken fire pit plus a play ground (haven't figured out how we are going to build the fire pit but it's gonna happen ) That's cool you got your fencing included, last time because we where first in Mr T built all our fences and everyone moved in around us and thought it was awesome as they all got free fencing . What kind of fencing have you got? Lapped and capped or good neighbour? I'm off to sort out my shed quote now yay. I already dying with 41m long lol. Need to sell my kidney Hey Sallz, Thank god we only need to build and pay for one side and the returns, shouldn't be too bad as we will do it ourselves. The timber bill for decking will be the one to rock my boots off, hubby has grand plans for fancy hardwood (that is so not happening as he hasn't seen the budget spread sheet yet, merbau will be just fine) Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 64Sep 20, 2017 2:34 pm bananarama Ours is 41m long too. I don't want to know the figure hahaha. 97 would prob give me a stroke Same for us bananarama with our back fence, one side is already done with the existing Neighbour we just need to finish the rest. Good luck with your quotes I hope they aren't awful, Hubby will build ours but was so pumped when he come to tell me we need to now buy a trailer as we are so far out from bunnings they charge a fortune to deliver. Damn it. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 65Sep 20, 2017 4:06 pm Did your existing neighbour ask you for half the costs of that fence? Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 66Sep 20, 2017 4:22 pm bananarama Did your existing neighbour ask you for half the costs of that fence? They have been there for 5 years or so, we haven't meet them as yet so time will tell if they would like a fence contribution. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 67Sep 20, 2017 5:06 pm Ahh. If it was built that long before you bought the land, I imagine they would be hard pressed to find it reasonable for you to pay half! I'm off to sort out my shed quote now yay. oh good! it's nice to actually be pleasantly surprised by builders lol Meanwhile these are good questions... i have no idea lol but i think i'll be asking them now. Our neighbours apparently will need to sign something and return back. Builder needs to try 3 times and proof of that if they dont reply. Fencing i think is lapped.. but could be wrong - I'll need to check the estate guidelines again. Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 70Sep 20, 2017 11:14 pm I was surprised alright Gr8ly my budget was on her knees screaming. I've sorted it now but holy smokes it wasn't looking good. Yes ask them what approvals have been granted, also double check your 6 star energy rating, covenant approval, certifier and council, plus the damn relaxations. In regards to your relaxation from your neighbours, you mentioned your neighbours all have relaxations did you sign documents approving their siting plans?? Something along those lines happened to first time builder on her first Clarendon build. She got a zero lot neighbour with no request to do so. Sorry to suggest so many things for you to check, it hopefully give admin the shake up that your on to them Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 75Nov 17, 2017 6:25 pm staceyrussell How's it all going? Hey staceyrussell we've been waiting patiently for council... and everything has been approved finally : ) . So hopefully we should have some progress by the end of the month... we know our site manager now too Meanwhile we haven't visited our land in a while, so hoping there's a nice surprise for when we do. Im just excited that something is finally happening after all the dramas we've had to endure. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 76Nov 17, 2017 8:48 pm That's wonderful news gr8ly! Here's to surprises in the build speed for you now that it's all getting underway. My thread can be found here - I hope! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=89313 Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 78Nov 18, 2017 9:33 am Yes, that is awesome news! You will have a slab and frames before you know it! Yayy! Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 79Nov 30, 2017 6:29 pm so we are patiently waiting for the weather to improve so we can finallyyyyy have our slab poured It was supposed to be done yesterday, but now with the constant rain, will probably be sometime next week. Annoying... however i'd rather they get it right the first time. Hopefully will have some pics from next week. Fingers crossed this rain goes away... ugh! Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 80Nov 30, 2017 7:53 pm Haha, I know them feels!! That's what happened to us! Fingers crossed for sunny skies!!! I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34273 6 55353 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27731 |
