We have a PowerPoint, antenna, foxtel point and a data point for future NBN, do we need HDMI cable as well?? I'm so confused, I called JB hi fi today and I think that made my confusion worse. Our builder has added a cabling package on our quote for home theatre system but I don't think we need it if we don't intend on having home theatre set up. What do you do with cable from Foxtel to tv? We have other points up high to plug tv directly into. You are not going to get the right answer here unless by luck. It very much depends on your particular equipment and setup, and unless you can explain that in detail, no one is going to be able outline what you need. Perhaps you might consider engaging an AV setup specialist in your area. Where are you located? Some high-end Hi-Fi shops may know people who do this, so speak to them if someone on here cannot help. Re: Wall mounting a Smart TV - what do I need? 8Jun 27, 2017 7:35 am MrsJM We have ours wall mounted. We have data and Foxtel points plus power points and a bullnose at about 1200FFL, and power points and another bullnose at 300FFL. If you don't have extra noggins in the wall think about the placement of these points relative to where you'll need your bracket. C U S T O M. C O R A L. You have your Foxtel point up high? Or is that a HDMI cable that has a point for tv and one lower for Foxtel box? Re: Wall mounting a Smart TV - what do I need? 9Jun 27, 2017 7:45 am Whitey22 Are you going to be using an external amplifier and speakers or just the tvs speakers? Do you plan on having a cabinant below ? If so i would just run a bullnose behind ur tv and one behind the ent unit. Consider atleast 2 data points as a minimum. Cheers Thanks Whitey, Yes cabinet below and just tv speakers. Would both data points be behind the tv, up higher? Cheers. I don't even know why we got the points. I know that we had issues in our bedroom because the electrician put the PowerPoint right on the beam we needed to mount the wall mount, smack bang where we needed to screw it. In hindsight I would have talked about these things at rough in. Had to shop around to get a special bracket C U S T O M. C O R A L.
