Ours were only like $75ea but our tight@ssness kicked in and decided not to do it throughout. Extend driveway to porch and a small garden bed. Excluded soil removal. But naturally, started to have second thoughts on what we should do...so.. i'm after some driveway design help... shazaw please ask your husband too. I might get a extra opinion LOL. Sorry couldn't help myself. Geez im a smart@ss! Our 2 constrains are: Driveway max width at crossover point is 5m. There is square Syd water Hydrant marked H just beside the proposed crossover location Could you vote A, B, C or plus any other comments please. Thanks!! A: This was the design we quoted on. Both sides of driveway tapers to the crossover so its symmetrical. Not sure the garden bed border thing would look nice or not B: Straightened one side. Add footpath to porch creating a garden bed infront of pillar. Its nicer to have a path, but I doubt we will use it. And we won't be doing a fence either... C: Kept one side straight and added some curves to the concrete. Was hoping that would soften the look. Visitors leave to their cars via it, if parked on the street. We walk down it to check the letter box. In saying that I don't know if it needs to be in concrete. It could be different, as a feature, like ours Okay seems I just like ours and am trying to tell you to do it like that. I've never seen a concrete garden border edge like version A before (in front of the house you mean?), but with the right plants any garden will look great! I love the idea of adding curves to the driveway. Re: Sekisui | Burbank - Cedarwood1828 396Sep 20, 2017 11:38 pm Definitely " C ". My hubby prefer curves. lol C is similar to ours driveway. will post drawing on my thread. I love the idea of adding curves to the driveway. Your feature path is so sexy. It's reclaimed timber no? I think you've convinced me how it doesn't have to be concrete. If we leave the path out now we can use a nicer material later like stepper pavers, decking or copy your timber idea. LOL if we leave it, it might turn into one of those things that never get done. I'll get a photo of the concrete garden border thing... Re: Sekisui | Burbank - Cedarwood1828 398Sep 21, 2017 8:41 am Wow everyone has voted C! I think that's where we are heading too. Thanks for the feedback!! Yeah we're not sure we would concrete the path from porch to street... will come back to that at landscaping. Re: Sekisui | Burbank - Cedarwood1828 399Sep 21, 2017 12:21 pm Just remembered we already have the concrete edge garden thing at our place now. Maybe that's why I subconsciously thought of it... lol And a couple of photos from the concretor's page Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sekisui | Burbank - Cedarwood1828 400Sep 22, 2017 10:15 am SS update: Electricians and plumber to complete by end of week. Still chasing flooring company via office. Lots of new rubbish out the front. Electrical, carpentry and plumbing fitout might be very close to if not already complete. Still have a few errors to follow up: kitchen splashback, vanity mixers and shower drains. Externally I can see electrical is done but still a few things to do but I'm not sure which trade does this work: eave vents, window/door trims, bathroom exhaust ducting, range hood roof cowl. I'm guessing flyscreens and screen doors will come later Hi All, Recently we have signed a contract with Burbank and we are not aware that they have just DORSET, SURREY, HAMPSHIRE, KENT, PILBARA and REDGUM bricks from PGH are… 0 3151 |
