I personally wouldn't want to have to keep my blinds closed all the time because the neighbours were looking in at me. Don't others have the right to privacy? Yeah I'm not saying they don't. But if they want it and they are getting undressed close the blinds. I'm paying a fortune just so the neighbours can have their privacy. I don't think that's fair. And it's more then 1.2m from the fence. Even more so my neighbour choose to build on the fence line. Which meant we had to build even further away. Which then cost us more on site cost. And speaking about invasion of privacy. If they were so concerned about that. Then we would they have no front fence between the house. That's not privacy. The neighbour can walk right into your house. They can't have one rule for privacy. Yet have another. That doesn't give you privacy. Question about obscure windows? 14Feb 26, 2017 9:28 pm Doulton777 Yeah that's what I thought. I really am regretting buying land here. So far you can't have 100% of the same material on your facade. Then you can't just have a normal square looking cooling. Has to be low profile. Now I believe the frosted is built into the glass. Getting so annoyed with regulations. Thanks for the response Where are you building your new home? A friend of mine will smash the glass and have it replaced with the clear ones once he moves in. Yes we thought of doing that too. We need to replace 7 windows. It's cost us $2700 to have the obscure windows that I don't even want. We are building in allura in truganina. Question about obscure windows? 16Feb 26, 2017 9:43 pm Estate rulings can be difficult. At least you don't have a 9m setback which leaves you with 6m in the back. Re: Question about obscure windows? 17Feb 27, 2017 5:13 pm Doulton777 To anyone who's finished their built with Metricon. Does your window have a film? Or is it imbedded in the glass. I know a lot of their display homes have the film. And my consultant thought so too. But when at contract we were told it would be imbedded into the glass. Now you know how one person says one thing and another says another thing. Well I figured the best people to talk to. Are the ones who have built houses with them. This thread is right up my alley. I have beautiful colonial style windows all throughout my Metricon home and one extremely unattractive obscure glass window in our upstairs living area. I too was told by the consultant that it would just be a film that could be peeled off but alas it was obscure Glass. It was a council requirement that they refused to budge on and believe me I tried. The window is a complete eyesore, looks terrible and doesn't match the rest of our house at all. It will most definitely be replaced as soon as I can afford it after handover. Welcome to our new Metricon Henderson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com I know it's ridiculous. We have to pay that extra so that someone else gets the benefit. As well as suffer with not being able to look out of the window to see nature. Yet if they are there first. They don't have too put any obscure windows. How fair is that! Yes we are doing the same. I'm not leaving them up there. After you spend so much money for the house too look good. Only to have something sticking out and looking like a sore thumb.
