I would question the lack of water proofing around the Bath, first time builder texted me this last week Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ she is building on the Gold Coast, in the new stage from my old house, we are friends, hence why she texts me . Plus I harass the life out of her with colours and plans poor woman. They might say because your Bath has the lip over the frame it's not required but I would defiantly want some. My kids soak everything when in the bath (even the damn ceiling) Your front windows look awesome too , love the front facade lights, very funky indeed Re: The epic home building race - BRICKING AND PLASTERING N 237Jul 02, 2017 7:07 pm Thanks Tribe! Haven't had a chance to ask about it yet.. but agree seems no one else on this forum has had any other solutions to their wet areas. Been a busy week of work for me but looks like bricks are nearly all up. More than half way for sure. Didn't get a chance to walk into the house today. What will come first with internals? Cabinets? paint? Flooring? can't wait to find out and hopefully soon! It's a busy time of year with EOFY that's for sure, glad the bricks are charging along. For your internals the schedule depends on your ss and the availability of the trades. This is a very standard schedule; Cornice and gyprock setting (they spak fill and sand all the joins) brick clean, site clean. Carpentry first fit (skirts and arcs, doors, sofits, shelving for linen and pantry) they might not hang the doors as they need to be painted anyway. Cabinets for wet areas and kitchen, stone generally before tiling. Again doesn't have to. Cabinets and first fit carpentry can go in either order. Same with tiling and paint either can happen first. Once those have happened your on the home straight, final carpentry fix off (like handles to door etc) air con commissioned and ducts installed. Plumbing and electrical fit off, final site clean, bin, fencing and loo removed, window service, caulking, plumbing inspection by council, (you don't have gas from memory?) flooring, mirrors and shower screens, appliances, insulation rolled out in the ceiling. I'm sure there are other things I can't remember Your defiantly making great progress, you seem to have a steady stream of trades which is awesome for getting your house built. How is little miss Tori going now? Re: The epic home building race - BRICKING AND PLASTERING N 239Jul 02, 2017 9:53 pm Just checked in and it is looking so amazing! You must be so excited seeing it all coming together! Such great brick work, and the our baths went in like that until it was time to waterproof then they took them out to do it so I am sure they will get around to it 😀 Re: The epic home building race - BRICKING AND PLASTERING N 240Jul 02, 2017 10:22 pm Tribe7 Just see what happens with the water proofing, they might come back and do it, have they done the other bathroom? How is little miss Tori going now? Wow that's a giant list of things left to do!! As I've previously thought.. could try to aim for our son's birthday. More so, we just want to be in our house already!! Tori is doing really well, thanks. Growing like a weed!! almost 4KG. We are all still getting used to having a 2nd child in the house. Wife is definitely out of commission most of the time due to all the tiredness. And she sprained/broke her ankle the other day... oops... Thanks Ladybugs2 as well... I feel like waterproof may come later... but both baths are definitely placed well. Seems a bit of extra work to pull them out again!? But then again, I'm pretty weakly and the baths look heavy... Interestingly, there are two houses starting to go up right near us. Seems like Stanthorpe is really abuzz with builds! One by Dixon as well, and the other an owner-build. Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71778 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5314 Your house should come in "as new" condition. It should be clean, and without stains 1 4550 |
