Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 128Feb 18, 2017 12:39 am Has anyone decided to lay tiles after handover? I've read that Rawson/Tile direct will provide a credit of $27.50 per sqm - I presume this is just for the cost of the tiles. Is there any credit received for the reduced labour required from the tiler? Do all wet areas need to be tiled by Rawson in order to get the occupation certificate? Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 129Feb 20, 2017 11:01 pm For anyone looking to build with Rawson and plan on choosing Lux inclusions - Rawson have just started their Orange Carpet Event offer. It is mostly the same as last year's by the looks of it, but there are a few items that have been added/removed. http://rawsonhomes.com.au/orange-carpet-event-2017 Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 131Feb 21, 2017 7:12 am The T&Cs says it expires in about 2 months - might be worth having a chat with Rawson anyway though. "Offer is open to all new customers who request a tender between 20.02.17 and 20.04.17 and proceed to tender acceptance by the date specified in your Tender document. " Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 132Feb 21, 2017 7:15 am Since we signed tender this is their 3rd or 4th different orange carpet promotion. Im sure theyll have something similar (possibly even better) down the road Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 133Feb 25, 2017 9:11 am How is everyone progressing with their build? alisonandrew did you SS mention the plan of actions in addressing the chipped bricks, broken window and leaking pipes (and other pipes not in the plans..)? Did your site supervisor have any comments on the bricks being a different colour to the brickyard? morningstar are your eaves and cladding up? Have the scaffolding come down? Are you getting more regular updates from your SS? We need some pictures of your home! fizzed did you resolve the issue with your flashing? How was it resolved? I'm probably a few weeks away from slab pour - it has been a long time coming. Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 134Feb 25, 2017 10:03 am Hi anonymous. We are having an authorised walk thru this week so will raise all our issues then. Will let you know what the outcome is Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 135Feb 25, 2017 10:21 am anonymous- How is everyone progressing with their build? we are currently in estimating.. hopefully should be out and our site supervisor have our file in the next few weeks. Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 136Mar 01, 2017 5:58 pm Roofs, gutter, fascia, eaves, claddings are now done. Next: finishing & painting the downpipes and claddings, electrical & AC rough in, waterproofing wet areas. The brickwork came up really good. Communication is improving. Progress is slow but steady. Fingers crossed things can stay on the up and up. Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 137Mar 01, 2017 6:00 pm Looking good Our electrical rough in has been done. Have walk through tomorrow afternoon. Still waiting on cladding and lower eaves Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 138Mar 01, 2017 6:17 pm Nice! Progressing well by the sounds of it. I wonder if they're going to paint the downpipes like the Metricon builds where they're painted after being installed resulting in an unpainted pipe where it touches the brick. You can't really tell from far away but up close it looks incomplete or as if painting the pipe was an after thought. They hardly look like they are an afterthought. Actual results will depend on the painter you get. Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 140Mar 07, 2017 1:04 pm Glad to see things are progressing for everyone! Just thought I'd come back and give an update on the flashing issue we had Rawson have done some "fixes" as shown in the photos below. TBH I'm not particularly happy about the fix and am concerned it will cause problems down the track...... what do you think? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ BTW - you can see downpipes being painted after installation (bottom still to be done obviously) and our painter has done a reasonable job On a far more positive note - in the last 2 weeks we have had gryprock complete, stairs installed, kitchen and vanities installed, front steps done, all bricking complete. Today doors are going in and architraves are being tacked on Given we are at week 48 of a 43 week build I am both thankful something is finally being done and hoping this progress continues Oops nearly forgot - we have been advised today we have a new SS - who apparently is really good - 4th one for the build...... You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14078 Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2433 Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
