Joelleg6 Our build thread - Acacia34 by Orbit Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81316 http://bordoncasaacacia34.blogspot.com.au/ Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2430Sep 17, 2017 9:32 pm Hey Dawn, I was going to suggest making your step size bigger so that it went out past the pipe before dropping down to the next step. Looks like you have done that anyway and have it sorted, I like the pattern better now as its slightly bigger then just two rows iykwim. I have the same hand towel ring for my house when its built however its a fixed type, I wasn't sure on it I thought it looked too big and the towel would hang too low, however yours looks good so hoping mine will too haha. If you go with coastal picture you kind of limit the colours you can bring into the room?? With an abstract you coud swap your colours around a lot easier- you could always have more than one painting though if you wanted to and swap over when you felt like a change!! The lamp shades are nice, it is white on white but your walls look a little darker so I dont see it as a problem. {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2431Sep 17, 2017 9:46 pm I really love the teal cushions and the lamps. Adairs is my new favourite hangout since they opened a factory outlet close. All you need now to finish it off is a couple of Euro pillows, a nice big piece of art and a few more cushions. I'm with you on styling, for the big things I'm going for a neutral/classic theme and will throw a bit of colour in with smaller accessories. That way it will be easier/cheaper to change it if it dates or I get sick of it. I'm really struggling with artwork, there are a few areas that will need big pieces. Every thing I like is expensive. I have just discovered Etsy and I'm seriously thinking about getting a set of 3 prints shipped from the US and framed here but it's so hard to settle on a look . Ugh I hate being so indecisive. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2432Sep 18, 2017 7:18 pm I only just found the adairs homemaker center. Its fun!! I'm still loving the lamps. Artwork is hard though.. I like a lot of stuff, but not sure I want it hanging on my walls XD Artwork is expensive though!! I liked someone elses idea of getting digital prints off Etsy.. Must of been windy here today, came home to find the laundry door had slammed shut.. so my kitties were locked out, so no water, food or litter tray unfortunately someone thought my WIR would make a good alternative!! Its so warm, kitties are having fun playing chasy in the backyard XD I had a look at the front step today when I got home and its not as bad as I thought, might not look so bad once its all done. Just hope we can finally get it finished this weekend. Got a quote back from a friend on a shower door for the en suite $660. Not too bad (the sad thing is I paid $890 to the builder to upgrade to frameless screen.. but it needs a door! Also got my quote on screen doors for the two sliding doors and barrier door for the front $520x2 and $680 for the big door! $1,720 installed for mesh doors with no diamond grilles So going ahead with those quotes, bit more money then I want to spend right now but will be so much better with screen doors that I can leave open and keep the bugs out, especially with the warmer weather coming. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2434Sep 18, 2017 9:15 pm Ooh who is doing your screen doors? I move in in 3 weeks and I need doors desperately! The wind was shocking today, we couldn't even send the kids out at lunch because of it! Poor kitties. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2435Sep 18, 2017 9:42 pm A family friend is doing them for me, I'm not sure who is supplying but he is installing for me. It was pretty bad, but I didn't notice it much at work.. but here at home it seems crazy!! It was pretty bad, but I didn't notice it much at work.. but here at home it seems crazy!! You're lucky you have someone to do your doors I don't know many tradies, just my uncle who is a cabinet maker so he's doing my WIR and laundry cabinetry when I get around to it. My friend who lives in Pakenham just asked me to go to a Food truck festival on the 20th October. I'm going to go, should be fun You should take a friend down there and check it out! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2437Sep 19, 2017 6:37 pm I am lucky! When I see him I'll ask if he can recommend someone for you. My dad isn't really a tradie, he does earth works, but he's handy at everything from truck driving, fixing cars, welding, anything with power tools.. and apparently paving and thankfully he has a few friends and my uncles are all pretty handy. I've been SO lucky to have people able to help me with the house, I would never have been able to afford to get all this done without them. Mum and I are going plant shopping soon and she'll help me plant them all, she's quite a green thumb Ooh, wish I knew a cabinet maker who could do my WIR!! I don't have one of them. Oh, that does sound fun.. I might be able to go. My weekends have gotten strangely full lately! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2438Sep 19, 2017 6:42 pm Busy day today!! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2439Sep 19, 2017 6:46 pm Got an email from my broker today saying that the stamp duty office rejected my refund claim because my build took too long So I had to provide more evidence to show that I had done everything possible to get the build completed on time (had 12 months from land settlement to move in in order to be entitled to the FHO stamp duty discount and therefore get my refund). By the time I put together an email to the broker she rang me to say they had approved my refund based on her explanation to them YAY getting my refund and apparently within 48hrs.. yay. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2440Sep 19, 2017 7:33 pm So glad you got your stamp duty discount hopefully it helps with some of the extra costs. Thanks for reminding me I need to do mine and apply for my FHB. So much to do before I get my keys next Monday . Desk and bookcase are really nice and tie in nicely with your other pieces. I love matching things. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15265 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17046 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11629 |
