I don't possess a green thumb. Our front landscaping was included when we bought the land. I just need to book a time with the landscapers for a consultation but also need to arrange it for a time when the wife is home as she's been pretty much responsible for all the front aesthetics so far and I don't want to be blamed for ruining them 🤣 I think the backyard is my responsibilty though. Have some ideas... just gotta find the time to.commit to them! I have so many ideas, but no monies XDD So just going very basic, can keep improving as time goes on. I got very lucky with my parents paying for the paving and turf, its about the nicest thing they've ever done for me. Not to mention everyone pitching in to help, its been amazing. I really want pearl scented magnolias for the backyard, but not sure where to get them or how much they will cost. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2205Aug 22, 2017 8:10 pm Everything looks fab Dawn!! You've managed so much in one weekend, I'm really not looking forward to landscaping, I have no idea where to begin Can't wait to see your cat run!!! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2206Aug 22, 2017 8:19 pm Your house is huge!! So I expect your landscaping to take a little while I'm working through a list of what I need to decorate the different areas in my house, like the entry hall, etc. D Then I can buy things in bits and pieces as I find things I like. {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2207Aug 23, 2017 3:18 pm Hi Dawn, you house looks great. You are bless to have so many people helping you. We had a landscaper doing most of the hard work over a several weeks/months. Thereafter I had my hubby and sister helping with paving and planting. Initially it was tough and tight financially. It was like endlessly paying for things. Took us about 2-3months to settle in. I still have bedroom furniture to buy before my son comes home next year. Currently our attention is on our 5 month old puppy. I had to redo our decoration when puppy came along as she tends to chew a lot.
your house is yours alone. Don't rush. Take your time, less stressful. Enjoy it with your fur pets. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2208Aug 23, 2017 6:58 pm ruraldoc Congrats on the landscape stuff! (and it being paid for) Hope your dad goes well with getting it all put together! Just keep remembering that you have got your cute little pets, you've got your beautiful home, you've got your family, and you've got your health! I was never a cat person, but my wife suffers from bad anxiety as well and she loves cats... and we will be getting a cat for our house. You will turn into a cat person! Cats are the best! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2212Aug 24, 2017 8:21 am Love your side gate! Is this one that can be locked/unlocked either side? Was it expensive? As this is what we are looking at doing Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2214Aug 24, 2017 10:53 am aloenyx Yup both sides. It cost $1379. My dad assembled and installed it. Oh so definitely not cheap then! I'm assuming to have someone come and do it is going to cost even more!! But we want it to be locked by either side Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2215Aug 24, 2017 11:01 am aloenyx Omg shes gorgeous!!! how do you find her temperament? I thoight about a westie but know nothing about them. She is our 1st westie/puppy. It seems she has the part of the male characteristics- very active, cheeky , full of confidence and smart. Unlike other breed, you have to be cautious of their diet to avoid skin complications when they are older. I'm assuming to have someone come and do it is going to cost even more!! But we want it to be locked by either side I think there are cheaper options, the wood look is the most expensive, if you get plain colourbond its cheaper.. and you can get a cheaper lock.. and such.. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2219Aug 24, 2017 7:51 pm So after two weeks in the house I finally unpacked my kitchen!! D Went through and sorted and organised all the shelves and cupboards. Thankfully I still have some empty space left after unpacking everything D Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Move in :DD 2220Aug 25, 2017 12:48 pm How good is it to have a kitchen that fits everything! I'm use to cramming everything in to make it fit so when I first unpacked the kitchen i had empty cupboards so went back and spread stuff out a bit. Also have homes for all my appliances in the kitchen instead of keeping them in the spare room Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15265 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17046 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11629 |
