It really softened the look of the drapes as well as the overall look of the room too Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 1030Apr 15, 2017 8:00 pm IKEA for the win. I really like the look of the sheer roller blind with the dark curtains GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 1031Apr 15, 2017 8:36 pm aloenyx Or could do dark roller blinds with sheers... but I still like the idea of having those big windows with views onto my green backyard. Love the dark sheers Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 1032Apr 15, 2017 8:58 pm Oh the sheer roller plus blackout curtain curtain would be so dark. We went the opposite sheers with blackout roller and I was trying to work out how to make it so I don't get strips of light in Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 1033Apr 15, 2017 9:06 pm I am liking the idea of sheer roller with dark curtains more and more. The curtains will give the living area softness and texture, even some colour (since its very white!!). Plus at night, will give privacy and keep the heat in during winter. The sheer privacy will keep it light and bright, while giving some privacy on those occasions when I might need it. Although part of me does think the blinds might be a cost I don't need. I also thought about putting curtains over the shutters in my master, but doesn't seem to be much of a point.. Going to be hard to find the right colour curtains for the living space..need to complement the floor tiles. I like the greys, but I have a feeling they won't actually suit. We went with grey/black sheers where light still streams through because we will have med grey block out blinds in our master suite. We also opted to get pelmets that match the sheers so it still gives it that ambient look. Hoping it looks grand like the above pic Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 1035Apr 15, 2017 9:16 pm Mhm.. so many decisions. Everytime I think I've made up my mind I change it XD Simple is probably best. Sheer roller blinds or block out curtains.. or both. I think the block out curtains are probably more functional. I'm also liking the idea of tinting the sidelight, front, laundry and back windows.. The sheers are kind of nice... but then I want to enjoy my backyard view.. I am so sorry you are not in your home yet, it must be getting so close now! I certainly would not be recommending your builder to anyone! Thanks. It is getting closer, but still no firm date.. so who knows?? I feel like you moved in years ago!!! No, I won't be recommending them. And our deal about them using my place as a display is definitely not happening. It does worry me that everyone is being given their mid May handover dates and I'm suppose to move in then and haven't gotten anything.. Oh well, just keep hassling them. Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 1038Apr 16, 2017 8:08 am I feel you dawn. Been reading your build for a while now. Im also still waiting for hand over. My build was flying up until pci where i have been told next week, in two weeks a couple of times. All these little things add up, I've worked out that we've spent over $10k on things that have popped up along the way GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 1040Apr 16, 2017 8:38 pm aloenyx Or could do dark roller blinds with sheers... but I still like the idea of having those big windows with views onto my green backyard. I was at ikea yesterday and I forgot the paper blinds!
