Nope. Still waiting on a date. Best I could get out of them was early May.

I actually really love the tiles in these pics, they look much more grey and the grout is a good match. I love your splashback! My fave thing in the pics. Although that could be because it's the same as my splashback, but so glad to see it & like it as I just picked blindly. I also like the protruding basin. I have no idea what tapware/toilets etc I'm getting. Just whatever arrives I guess? Like a lucky dip! Pandora is the cutest thing ever! If my cat wasn't old and grouchy I would so get a kitty like her. Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 975Apr 09, 2017 9:16 am Pandora is getting more beautiful every time I see her. Can't wait to bring her home... should be around Anzac weekend. She'll continue to get darker for the next 5 years apparently XD my breeder said she's a massive smooch. Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 976Apr 09, 2017 9:29 am I'm glad you all like the tiles. I'm still not sure, but hopefully they will grow on me once I move in. Maybe I just need to see the house from the inside. I don't hate the tiling, but I'm not wowed either. Same as the en suite vanity and such.. I'm thinking that's nice enough, as if I was browsing display homes.. but its not what I would have picked for my own home. Next time I build a house, I will pay more attention to the details (I thought I had, but realising now I didn't). These are the selections I thought I was getting... versus what I thought I got.. though not sure which would be better as have no models or anything. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen tap... no idea which is better... I don't know what I would have picked. XD Can always be changed. The sink matches my selections. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I really don't like protruding basins.. did not pick this up in my plans. It stills looks okay.. but gosh there is no storage space on that vanity at all... I do like that its square.. though I will probably walk into it a heap and I hate how square basins splash water everywhere. I may still get the round one in the main bath, can't see in there. I did like that I got the metal trim on the niches and bath which I wanted, but didn't ask for. Not a biggie. Is my floor tiling rectified? Well, hopefully electrical fit out and carpets come soon!! I think mirrors, shower screens, fly screens, electrical, carpets, wardrobes, door handles, door stops, appliances, split system.... getting there. 6 weeks from Monday (I hope!!) Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 977Apr 09, 2017 10:48 am Honestly I love all of it. I think it looks great and will be more "yours" once you fill it with all your stuff. I love the metal trim on the niches (our builder charged us extra for it) and the subway tile too! So good. Hopefully they give you a more specific date shortly! Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 978Apr 09, 2017 11:48 am Thanks Kat Its reassuring that other people like it.. so my choices weren't terrible. Its hard for me to see it properly because all I can think of is all the mess and things still to be done.. once its completed I might feel better about it. I must say, the one benefit of going with this builder has been all the freebies... I didn't ask for the metal trim but got it for free. Same as the upgraded handles, the whirlybird... the extended bench top. Probably about 10k in freebies all up.. and they said there are more surprises to come apparently, but not sure what they meant. A date would be great, but at least I have an idea... Re: {dawn} SE Melb Build - Plumbing fit out - 6 wks to go! 980Apr 09, 2017 12:00 pm I had no idea about kitchen splashback when I went for colour appointment. I wanted glass but couldn't afford the upgrade.. or I wanted like those glass blue tiles.. or mosaic.. but had been told they weren't in the standard range and at this time I was already over budget, so couldn't afford any upgrades at selection. I was thinking I'd just pick the biggest size tile they had, like the 200x400 with some texture. This is the builder's selection for wall tiles. So I was like... oooh, I'll try the one that says 'new' and the lady was like "thats an upgrade"..so I was like.. oh um, maybe one of the coloured tiles then.."upgrade"... what can I have thats not an upgrade "plain white"... er okay. XD She suggested the subway and grey grout and I thought "why not" XD its all very white, so I wanted to break it up a little (though honestly I love white). Seems to have worked out.. and didn't cost me more. YAY. For the bathroom I also only had white, so I just picked a bigger tile, different arrangement and white grout.. but white on white is pretty standard in bathrooms anyway. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This was their floor choices.... all bleh. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But then I found out I could pick from this range in 600x600 matt (I wanted gloss, but again.. upgrade!) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ In the end its all worked out I think... I'm actually glad I went with a matt floor tile.. my bunny likes it more too XD Also, forgot to say found out my neighbor has a dog.. I heard it barking when we were walking around the house yesterday. Hope it doesn't bark every time I'm outside my house.. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15244 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17012 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11596 |
