The national tiles guy recommended the spray for ease of use (this was after we had done it all by paintbrush).

Sounds like a pain to do but I think would be beneficial for down the track Re: Simonds Express Westbury Build 65Jan 14, 2017 9:05 pm n_one wadeal n_one Did you get any upgrades done? was the data cabling done by you or Simonds? Only thing so far has been extra power points, extra insulation and data cabling. Power points - paid sparky cash for the extra 10 points we wanted. Insulation - quote from Insulation company doing ceiling to do the internal soundproofing. Data cabling - I did myself. Bought 2x 300m rolls of CAT6 $150 a roll (Krone brand), brackets cost like $1.60 for behind plaster, wall plates like $2 or something each and the data points themselves about $7 each. Can probably get all done in a day. They were pretty strict on any changes like we wanted to do some basic changes to the plan (make hallway "skinnier" and move ensuite door to in walk in robe) and was a big NO to these changes. Nice on the data cabling, did you go in after hours? as i asked Simonds about putting in data cables, they said they cannot let you in due to OH&S.... blah blah... We are looking to get soundproofing between the walls as well. What type of insulation did they put in for you? Re: Simonds Express Westbury Build 66Jan 17, 2017 2:39 pm Renman We are looking to get soundproofing between the walls as well. What type of insulation did they put in for you? Bradford Soundscreen R2.5. Keep in mind though if you're serious about soundproofing you will also have to put in heavier doors like it's almost pointless to do the insulation without better (solid core) doors as well. I priced up new doors from Bunnings are around $100 a door for a good solid core door and we have spare paint from the builders they left for us. Just heard back to M, they only have the acoustic R2.5 insulation. Is this a good product and should I do it to all the space or leave out the laundry/bathroom? Bathroom? What is the adjacent room? how far is the dining and family room? Pretty awesome 30 degree day today sitting in comfy 23, should be good for Monday meant to be 35+ then will see how it goes. Aircon is Actron Air ESP Plus Platinum 17kw ducted. Solar installer has been here got the inverter and mounts up for the panels to go on so should be this week hoping. Re: Simonds Express Westbury Build 74Apr 23, 2017 10:29 pm Do you by any chance have a picture of the tiles all polished and clean. I'm building the rathdowne next year with the display home spec. I love everything about it except the tiles which I think its a tad too small but looking at your pics with the darker grout makes it look bigger and more luxurious. Definitely don't have pictures of the tiles polished, they are matte and don't really shine up. They look nice when they are freshly washed (which is a pain in the backside TBH, the only way I can get these tiles to look nice is to wash them by hand). One day i sort of love the 'grid' look another day I just dont feel for them. I've asked the consultant about changing them but The express package is pretty much lockdown in looks. She did suggest that I could opt out and not have the tiles laid down and I choose my own tiles but it has to be done outside of simonds. Only thing about that is I still pay for the Rathdowne tiles regardless and then of course I have to pay for the tiles that I want. She gave a rough quote that its probably going to cost me $2 to $3k to do that. Might visit a few tile showroom just to see what I van afford Re: Simonds Express Westbury Build 77Apr 25, 2017 7:05 pm Satria Megera Where is this Rathdowne? I can understand why they wouldn't change the actual tiles though. The only reason we have colour match now is because of our grout being faulty. I like the dark grout purely for keeping it clean and nice looking reasons.
