That having been I've recently seen a project completed with 1600x800mm tiles and they look amazing. Make sure you speak to the supplier about the 1000x1000mm and ensure you won't have any problems with warping or cupping. Sometimes larger, square tiles have a tendency to bow in the middle. Rectangular tiles, for whatever reason, don't seem to have the same problem.
