It flows nicely But so does the paint so I guess it comes down to what you prefer and if you want them to go to the effort They have to come back and paint anyway so shouldn't be that bad if you do want it fixed Re: Simonds express Westbury Beckett facade 184Nov 28, 2016 8:36 pm GemmaS Just standard ceiling height in ours Thanks yeah ours is the higher ones - I think that's where that extra piece of laminate is to make up the height difference- oh gosh what to do... I have a mild case of OCD lol! This is too much to decide hehe I'm thinking might look best to get that part of bulk head taken out? Re: Simonds express Westbury Beckett facade 185Nov 28, 2016 8:39 pm I'm going through tomorrow to get the blinds measured so will point it out to the site supervisor- and see what he suggests Re: Simonds express Westbury Beckett facade 187Nov 28, 2016 10:30 pm skinders78 I'm having the blinds people come and measure up next week- still a little undecided but I'm thinking to have the sunscreen inside frame and the block out hung on the outside of frame. Do I get it to roll under or over ?? That's exactly what we did with the standard under roll. Our blinds guy said he wasn't a fan of over rolling and I'm happy with it how it is. Good luck! I don't think it looks bad at all but wonder if it will look better the other way.... Are yours outside the frame ? Ours will have to be on the outside so we have the option to add a sunshade inside the frame down the track as he said a double bracket wouldn't fit inside our frame would sit too far out Re: Simonds express Westbury Beckett facade 196Nov 29, 2016 7:40 pm skinders78 Megera skinders78 I'm having the blinds people come and measure up next week- still a little undecided but I'm thinking to have the sunscreen inside frame and the block out hung on the outside of frame. Thanks so much for the tips. I have put aside the money for blinds but as it's getting closer I thought can I save a little ? But the more I think about it as I did want quite a few split ones and then I don't have to muck around and I don't really want to drill holes in my new house lol I know how you feel, the closer you get to the house being done the more plans go out the window and you start looking at ways to save a bit of cash! (how we went from rolled turf to seed even though I was soooooo adamant I'd never do seed!!) We aren't very handy so I just didn't want to take the risk doing it ourselves and stuffing up. But anyway, if you decide to do it yourselves I'm more than happy to post more pics of how ours are done or what combos we went with or what I'd change about what we did (only two things!). (And even if you do it yourselves, no harm in getting a couple of quotes since they're pretty much all free/no obligation). Thanks so much Megera appreciate that. Are yours all hung on the outside of window ? In most rooms we have a shade and a blackout with the shade hung inside and the blackout on the outside Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ In the laundry we only have a shade across the slider hung on the inside (so it doesn't interfere with the washing machine). In the front lounge we have an inside hung shade only across the big window. In the dining we have an outside hung split shade across the slider. In the back lounge we have an outside hung split shade across the slider and an inside hung shade across the window into the courtyard. The back lounge is the only thing I'd change. I wish we would've added a blackout blind across the slider (not split) and one across the window. The slider gets morning sun and the courtyard window gets the afternoon/evening sun which makes the back lounge hot. If you are just doing blackout blinds I would recommend hanging them on the outside because there's a few mm on either side that the blind won't cover because of the mechanism (sort of defeats the blackout purpose). I like having shades as well because we can have the blackout up and no one can see in during the day (also, the lighter the colour the more it will block, something about the brain being able to process images seen through a dark screen vs a light one). If you aren't doing a split blind for large windows or a slider they will need a booster in them to help you be able to roll them up easier. Our bedroom window had to have one put in - it was in the edge of needing one according to the chart & once we had the blind hung we got the booster because it was pretty hard to roll up (boosters are $$). Aaaand one more thing because I'm babbling on haha - if you can pay for the fabric that is white on the outside, do it (it is an upgrade). We wanted to avoid having dark colours that would draw heat into the house - especially because our blackouts are midnight-something-or-other. My other half wasn't too happy with how it looked from the outside at first but we are happy to not have a dark colour to draw heat in. We were going to go with a cream coloured shade but we were told it would be pretty bright/glare-y so we went with a light grey - it can still be pretty bright so I'm glad we didn't go lighter. (Ok so that was two things haha ❤️)
The only prob is the colour I have chosen has a white backing so if it's hung on outside of frame at the top the roller will be white across the top of its rolled under- wonder if that will look crap Re: Simonds express Westbury Beckett facade 199Nov 29, 2016 10:33 pm skinders78 Megera skinders78

Oh yes they do look very neat and tidy done professionally. My custom builder standard is 350mm with rendering, but i asked for 470mm plus stone or tiles and yet to get… 0 7497 traditional gable roof facade - Have you did the dark and light gray color combination in facade with gray stone in facade… 0 4211 Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7550 |
