Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Better Built Homes 102Jan 13, 2017 9:48 pm Had meeting on site with construction manager today. It was good however I asked for some more time for the confirmation about the screed installation. Showed him the email that I have to vacate the current rental unit in the first week of February and he already knows about my son's school placement issue. Electrical work has started...carpert and drive way next week. Today's pictures. So I have decided to accept refund for screed installation charges. I have placed the order for following pendant lights for void and island. Family over void - I have asked for black ring (In the picture its white ring). They said we are looking at slab down in feb and then 6 months from then so hopefully our time frame follows nicely. Hi Krusade25, is there any further update? Have you got start date? Thanks Re: Better Built Homes 106Jan 18, 2017 1:57 pm Hi Guys, I would like to know if any one have here slab knowledge. In our area all construction is having H1 or H2 slabs, where as BBH is going ahead with M class Hoping to get approvals from developer by the end of this week. Any idea how long it takes with private certifiers or CDC?? Mansawant, you have given a great idea while sharing your project to all of us, Thanks for that. Krusade25, when are you expecting to start your project, I hope mine can get start by Feb end. Annu Re: Better Built Homes 107Jan 18, 2017 2:49 pm Annu, soil test decides the type of slab. Have you checked the soil test report? It should contain the type of slab. My soil test was done by my previous builder so may be the report format is different. And regarding CDC if there are no issues with the application then you should receive approval in 2 - 3 weeks. Re: Better Built Homes 108Jan 18, 2017 3:08 pm Hi all. Update from our end. We have finished the last bit of paperwork and we are now just waiting for the letter of commencement from the bank which should only take 1 more week. BBH said that once they get the letter we are looking at slab down hopefully by end of feb. Once we start i will post a new thread and link it with this one as to our individual home journey and i will share plans etc then. Regarding soil tests ours started out as m class but BBH upgraded to H1 due to soil report. We had to go through council and it took about 4 weeks which was great. CDC is apparently a lot quucker at 2-3 weeks. So guys hopefully we start very soon. Again it is great to hear from everyone and how you are all progressing. Re: Better Built Homes 111Jan 24, 2017 8:06 pm Annu Wow so happy and excited for you Mansawant, it looks awesome. All the best for your new home and have a great time. Thanks for sharing your journey. Cheers Annu Thanks Annu. Will upload internal photos next week after PCI... Hoping to find no major issues and quick hand over. Thanks.... Re: Better Built Homes 112Feb 04, 2017 11:07 pm Hi guys, I hired private inspector who visited site on Wednesday 1 Feb 17 for final inspection and on the same day I forwarded inspector's report which contains some issues/damages to construction manager and site supervisor. Visited next day 2 Feb 17 for PCI and in addition to inspector's report added some mising things e.g. missing light and missing second feature wall. And now awaiting response from construction manager on my inspector's report and whatever they did in between my inspector's visit and my PCI visit which was unusal & unexpected. Will update you guys once receive response from the construction manager. Re: Better Built Homes 113Feb 07, 2017 6:10 pm Hi guys, handover is on Friday!!!! Re: Better Built Homes 118Mar 08, 2017 8:43 pm MarkPus Hi Mate was most of these taps, vanities etc all the standard inclusions? if you dont mind me asking... what was the base price of that house? and how much extra did you have to spend? Im looking at Better Built Homes for my build. Hi I had to pay extra for those taps. When I signed contract builder had 3 types of inclusions and now they have changed inclusion list. Also mine was custom design. They have now stopped building custom designs. Thanks..... Re: Better Built Homes 119Mar 09, 2017 4:49 pm Hi everyone. Sorry for the rather lengthy absence on this topic. Mansawant i hope you are all settled in and enjoying your new house! For everyone following this thread i have started a new topic to chronicle our personal Better Built Homes Journey. If you would like to follow and comment please do. I would love to keep track of how we are all going with Better Built. brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7584 Bigger the better for storage for me IMO. But I guess it's harder to tell the cost/benefit in your example - mainly the 'cost'? If you go 700mm, what are you doing extra… 2 1214 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home. Not only did I find Matt Lowe patronising and a bully, but the home is NOT TO CODE. I have water coming through the bricks… 1 14404 |
