Since my bank account is empty, I have no choice but to do a lot of the post-handover tasks myself =D Some things are more fun when you do it yourself. Me and hubby are getting our existing house ready for sale. We did our own painting plus feature walls. Hubby pulled out tiles put porcelain in. Put stone bench tops in. Plus put a front garden in. He did 4 ensuites + powederoom with tiles and bench tops. All up including tiles cost us about $1500. You just save so much when you do things yourself. The painter that did this house to begin with. Charged me $6000 for 12 feature walls . He was a friend too. He did not do a great job either. We have now painted over the walls 8 years later. Sometimes it's worth doing things yourself. We did it all together. Except his did the tiles and stone bench top. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: KDR Metricon Liberty - Hampshire 45 QLD 1388Jun 20, 2017 2:04 pm Wowww Dulie amazing DIY skills you have. Not only does it save money, but most the time I feel as if when it's your own house, you take so much more care and it ends up being a better job. Emmz70 Wowww Dulie amazing DIY skills you have. I couldn't believe it. I asked hubby to find out how much he would charge us. But Phil didn't ask he just trusted him being a friend. In the end we got shock of our life's. He was suppose to be a professional too. But he used duck tape. Pros shouldn't even need to use duck tape. Metricon is charging us $250 per wall for features no matter what size. We couldn't believe it. That's a great price. So we got them too do a few for this new house. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: KDR Metricon Liberty - Hampshire 45 QLD 1393Jun 20, 2017 4:07 pm icat2000 Doulton777 dulie Thanks guys. Love the design but not practical to have someone sitting at each end as the table legs will get in the way of human legs! Love the design but not practical to have someone sitting at each end as the table legs will get in the way of human legs! It's actually the opposite. Having the X allows a person to sit in front of the legs as apposed to straight legs which don't. Cause we actually like the straight leg version better looks wise. But went with the makers recommendation of extra space for potentially 4 extra people to be seated. I guess we will have to go for cross legs, I had already ruled out the straight legs too which I preferred as well!
