Tiling & Painting 4028Aug 19, 2017 4:01 pm To say I love the timber wall is an understatement!!! I was running around like a school kid all excited because I wasn't expecting to see it yet lol. It's so so pretty and just adds impact Was impressed to see the tiler working, almost want to go out for another trip tomorrow to see the tiles down Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4029Aug 19, 2017 4:18 pm Looks awesome !!! Loving the timber wall ... we are a long way of seeing ours! We have Victorian ash stained black ... which did u go for and have they already stained or do they stain when constructed ? Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4030Aug 19, 2017 4:36 pm They never actually gave us an option on what colour the paper work just says stain - same with our front door. Hubby and I are hoping to speak with the painter... will call SS tomorrow... I think they use Merbeu, it's nice but we are after a darker colour... we like dulux intergrain charcoal stain Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Love the colour charcoal Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4034Aug 19, 2017 6:12 pm They tried not to give us a choice either and just put kwila wood in which was an horrific orange colour ! We didn't get a choice for merbau so chose the light Victorian ash so we could stain it dark and have gone for black Japan and hoping it turns out ok. We see the screens in all the display homes yet they couldn't understand why we wanted it stained ... yet they are always stained from what I Ve seen ! Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4035Aug 19, 2017 6:14 pm Try to get an off cut of your screen and test the different stains to know what suits Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4036Aug 19, 2017 6:19 pm We paid $181 for our timber to be stained . The front door apparently can't be stained due to heat from sun warping it ???!!!! So GJG will only apply clear varnish .... I m pretty sure this is not true tho and will be staining our door dark ... I really wanted merbau all throughout but upgrade was too much on top of everything else I upgraded. I figured I can change my door later ... or stain it ! Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17511 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10262 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9559 |
