Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2961May 13, 2017 8:45 pm That's disgusting behaviour from your own family ah well just think what they will miss out on - their loss Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2962May 14, 2017 10:46 am Sorry to hear that your family have not been supportive of your build. I hate nitpicking gossipping behind your back type of people. Those are the people who don't have the courage or conviction to tell it to you straight. Just think that in a couple of months you be in a brand new spanking house. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2963May 14, 2017 12:28 pm Yay I am so happy to see your updates Hun! And on the inlaws argh that makes you feel like crap staying somewhere and not feeling welcome or feeling like that are gossiping about you Trust me you will be glad her room is up there when she is a teenager haha Bot my kids bedrooms and the kids retreat is up the other end of the house, we are building this house once and want it to do us until the kids are older and have there friends over❤️ Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2964May 14, 2017 2:02 pm CB Sorry to hear about the family issues. Is moving out and renting an option at the moment? We are currently living in a small 3 bedroom house at the moment. We and they will be glad to move into our new house, where they are at the opposite ends of the house with extra sound insulation between the walls. Kids these days live at home for longer and they will appreciate the distance and private when they are older. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2965May 14, 2017 5:45 pm I would love to leave here and rent but I just don't see the point when we are meant to be done by Aug Seriously after the day I've had with miss 5 year old I will appreciate the layout on the first day GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2966May 14, 2017 6:13 pm Great news about lecco not so about in laws I'm with you our 5 & 6yo are as far away from us as possible Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2967May 14, 2017 6:24 pm Aww so sorry to hear they are being so negative behind your back. I know for us, being in our own home again has been such a relief - no walking on egg shells etc Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2968May 14, 2017 6:55 pm I would try and stick it out with the inlaws if you can, we are renting while we are building and it's a costly way of doing things, save money while you can, August isn't too far away!! Curious to see what the differences was. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2970May 14, 2017 7:31 pm I will definitely post it once I receive it. I'm hoping GJ send it through when they send through the variations for the extras I added GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2971May 14, 2017 8:07 pm Hi CB You are a beautiful person. You don't deserve to be spoken of that way! Your in laws need a lesson on family! We put our kids at the other end of the house too - and we have 1.5 and 3 year old and still going to go for a third!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85653&p=1642230#p1642230 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2973May 15, 2017 12:51 am I wouldn't worry too much about your inlaws, before you know it your daughter will be a teenager and you will be so thankful she has her own space. I changed the standard plans to make sure my 17 year old was at the other end of the house with her own living area. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2974May 15, 2017 10:05 am Apparently a large van turned up today, would this be windows? Please be windows!!! Also who installs the windows? The window people or the builder? I feel so silly asking haha!! Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2977May 15, 2017 11:15 am I thought so but when I thought about it I was like I actually don't even know who puts the windows in... Hopefully they come back soon and put in our windows so bricks can continue Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2979May 15, 2017 12:49 pm I'd love to see your new electrical plans too. I'm glad things are moving along for you. We moved our main bed to the back of the house, so it's snuggled between kids' rooms. I'm sure a lot of people won't like it, but it is what it is. Ignore whatever you hear via the grapevine. It's your house and you can build it whatever way you like. Shame on the people passing on gossip though. With such a stressful situation already, the last thing anyone needs is fuel added to the fire. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 17 still no roof 2980May 16, 2017 10:59 am Finally we have received our second progress claim which means we must have a roof Only 3 months from the last progress claim on 8/2 - I swear some houses on here were built in that time The worst thing is I can't get out there until tomorrow arv to have a look GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Thank you so much everyone.
