Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our first build 1921Dec 01, 2016 6:07 pm Ours is a decent size so I doubt you'd encounter what you've described...it's 1780mm long so your hips won't really be near the tap ware and if they place the tap at a good height I don't think you'd need to worry too much...I'll let you know when I get to have my first bath! [/quote] Make sure you have wine, or it doesn't count! Re: Our first build 1923Dec 01, 2016 6:54 pm Wow!! Love this!! I love the concrete look tile with timber. I was contempating having all concrete tile with timber vanaties but might have to reassess after seeing this lol Re: Our first build 1924Dec 01, 2016 6:58 pm Tamara1975 Wow!! Love this!! I love the concrete look tile with timber. I was contempating having all concrete tile with timber vanaties but might have to reassess after seeing this lol I tossed up with that too but then thought I'd rather timber on the floor....I really agonised over it though! Re: Our first build 1925Dec 01, 2016 7:08 pm Lee54 I love your bath, but may I ask you and others on this thread: are people concerned about having tap fittings centred? I ask because I have a broken femur (repaired with plate and pins) and would be worried about knocking my hip on it when getting up. I will be putting my fittings at one end of the tub, not just for me but also for visitors. I worry about injuries like that because they can actually be worse than you think initially. Yet I see so many designs with centred fittings... I'd have centred fittings if it wasn't for the big fixed glass window we are having bath but up against so we are having a floor mounted tap off to the side diagonally. Are you planning on the house being your forever house? Personally I wouldn't buy a house with grab bars in the bath - just personal taste... Also just curious, with a bath like this how do you planning on getting in and out? It's quite a high step over... GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 I might have to learn to high jump, but will not go without my baths... It will be my forever home. I'm building later in life than most. I don't really want bars either. Given that my rental doesn't have them, but has towel rails and cabinets near enough to enable getting up if you have mobility issues, that's something I'd look at. I have posted in the bathroom forum that I hate the current range of bars and would love it if someone could design something that didn't make your room look like a hospital bathroom. I have some ideas rolling around. If I can find a metal designer, I might be able to workshop something that I'm sure could be turned into a business for someone...
