Will be good see the flooring once it's all laid Re: Our KDR journey on Lake Macquarie- tiling stage 211Dec 14, 2016 4:58 am It is looking beautiful. I love all your selections. Not long now, surely. Re: Our KDR journey on Lake Macquarie- tiling stage 213Dec 14, 2016 10:22 am Thanks guys. PC walk through today, lots of things to point out... I'll let you know how it goes. Handover possibly late next week. Waiting for bank to do their valuation etc so we'll see. Have finally worked out the pendants meshelf after holding up the clear glass and black ones I felt they weren't big enough.. really need 3 of them if going to use them so definitely going with white and wood. They are a little short in length (would like them about 20cm longer) due to our high ceilings but electricians are going to have a look at them and see if they can replace the cord to make them longer... fingers x. Re: Our KDR journey on Lake Macquarie- tiling stage 214Dec 19, 2016 6:14 pm Hi Lozza Love the colour of your broom closet and laundry bench, what colour is that if you don't mind sharing? Re: Our KDR journey on Lake Macquarie- tiling stage 216Dec 20, 2016 7:03 am So bank completed their valuation yesterday and mortgage broker will let us know when cheque is ready to pick up! PC walk thru last week went pretty good. Nothing too major, mainly paint touchups inside & out. Trades are still working hard to finish so handover will happen this side of Xmas. Painters been here most days touching up and today they are staining front door and posts, extra drainage on our existing driveway was put in yesterday, concretor here yesterday putting in pad for water tank and back step. Flyscreens in. Electricans back to put last of lights, data pts and pendants in probably tomorrow. Handover possibly Thursday? Or even Friday?? Merry Xmas lol! Re: Our KDR journey on Lake Macquarie- tiling stage 217Dec 21, 2016 6:32 am Door left open today by the last trade so we had a bit of a look around before I locked up... Dissatisfied with the paint/gyprock fixups as part of our pc walk thru. Seems like alot of the tape has just been removed but not been fixed. Still many marks on walls and architraves. Paint all over windows etc. Not to a new home standard by any means. It will need to get fixed before handover. Dont know if they have finished staining the front door (i hope they havent) but it looks nothing like the garage roller door. I never expected it to be an exact match, but this is terrible. Fingers x that was the first coat. On a positive, love my mirror they installed in our ensuite. Only silly mistake I made was I got them to put the hand towel in and forgot that I had previously asked for a low powerpoint there... so now the electricians had to put the powerpoint up high which looks odd. Not so bad that it is white but still it stands out to me! Do you think you will make xmas? Fingers crossed!! Is that the coaba garage door? If so we chose the chocolate stain and it matches perfectly.. Strange as that may sound! Might be worth putting a coat on later to tie it through? Not the best pic but you get the idea.. we have the same front door too. I can`t wait to see what you do with the flooring and the back panel of the island in the kitchen, it will look stunning and be a really nice feature in your beautiful crisp white kitchen. You have great taste and style Secondly, we had this same problem with our last home. We went with caoba dawn garage door and wanted hardwood posts and front door to match it but we ended up with something like yours. It wasn`t what we first wanted or imagined but we lived with it in the end. The painter used a stain and varnish on our front door so it didn`t matter how many coats he did it was never going to get any darker. If they have only done a stain they could probably do a few more coats to darken it or even try a darker stain on top? Good luck, I hope that you get the result you want in the end. What is that dark mark on the post? I would never of noticed it if you didn`t point it out. I still think your front façade looks great too I`m not just saying that to make you feel better about it, I really do think the lighter timber tone looks fine, but if you`re not 100% happy with it then it`s worth mentioning.
