It's great you've got pictures of everything. I can only suggest that you compile your own report with pictures and email it through to your site supervisor, construction manager and office contact. That's the only thing that finally got everybody moving and working on fixing our errors. Welcome to our new Metricon Henderson http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2542May 01, 2017 12:35 pm Update, we are still hoping for handover this weekend, however they have not found the source of the leak in garage yet.
Thoughts on render? I like the look of bricks and not sure I like the fully rendered double look??? Maintenance? Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2543May 01, 2017 1:34 pm Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2545May 01, 2017 4:33 pm elieassi1992 Definitely would be a shame to render the nice bricks. I would leave the featured bricks un-rendered for a couple of months just to see if you think of another alternative. Once you render you can't go back, so there's no rush! Definitely wouldn't be rendering the moonshadow feature bricks at the front, would just render the ironstone ones the rest of the way around the house. So from the street you'd see the brick but we would have render within the backyard/sides of house. Worried about it chopping if kids hit it with balls/cricket bats etc too though!? Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2546May 02, 2017 10:05 am Think I've decided we might get them to render just the alfresco and back rumpus wall and leave the bricks exposed on side. How's that sound?
The recent good Friday auction house had alfresco only rendered and looked ok. They've done a good job everywhere on facade and around first floor apart from trying to go around the balcony balustrade brackets so 'should' be ok 🤞 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2550May 02, 2017 10:37 am bank Yes that looks good! If you want more examples JG King displays always have rendered alfescos with brick elsewhere. They must perceive it as an easy to sell upgrade and I guess it brightens the space up. Oh I'll have to check them out! Thanks!! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2551May 02, 2017 10:37 am That would look awesome kylz! It would contrast really well with your bricks too Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2552May 02, 2017 10:52 am Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2553May 02, 2017 11:00 am The vanilla quake wraps around the whole first floor doesn't it? Might be worth going the light grey to break it up abit around the back, unless you like the look of the Henley home? Oh I'll have to check them out! Thanks!! Yes vanilla quake is all around first floor, I think I've decided on the light grey if they agree to it. Just picked up another issue... I went to stain colours from our selection to look at darker options as we can see full marks through our current one and it turns out our current one is wrong colour!!! In my brain fog since dad passing away I looked at stairs every time and thought 'geez they look darker and redder than I remember picking, oh well must be the way it went!' But after looking back there is no way it's right colour!!! Red circle is colour we chose, think what we have is closer to bottom left (jarrah) and thinking to go one of the blue circled ones!? Seems the colour you choose (circled in red) is closer to the stair picture above. It doesn't look black at all. Two things to note: 1. sample circled in red has varnish on it which makes it glossy. The stair above only has stain and no varnish so not glossy. The glossiness can cause slight variation in colour. 2. Same stain on different wood will make it look different eg stain on meranti will look different from same stain on merbu. If you are concerned, chat with your SM or carpenter. If it's important to you, then you have to get what you chose and not learn to live with something else. NabeelC | Metricon Merricks 38 | Queensland http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86276 Thanks, no we didn't select the white circled colours we selected the red circled one. Think we got bottom left though!? I know woods give different colour but this is the board for their stairs so they should use the wood it's going to be used on when people have upgraded. We are going to ask for the black in white circle I think as they can't go back to lighter colour without a lot of drama!! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2557May 03, 2017 2:21 pm Can you borrow the samples from M or a paint shop? It would be good to have proof if its wrong, they always try and deny these things. The paint shop in Pako st Newtown were super helpful when we were picking stain, they ordered in colours they didn't have in stock and then painted them on our timber sample for us even though they knew that it was our builder who was buying not us. They've probably made a customer for life though, there's nothing like good customer service! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 2559May 05, 2017 10:03 am Not happening!
