Does anyone know if the kitchen bathroom and laundry plumbing are routed to the same channel or is the kitchen split from the other two? I would imagine it is all the one channel as this would be the most cost effective for the builder? If you want to use the grey water from the laundry and bathroom I assume you would have to reroute this to a seperate drain. Does anyone know if this would need to be done in the slab? If so any idea of cost? Or could it be done at a later stage? Any one with info or experience with this your advice would be appreciated. Re: Re-routing grey water???? 2Jul 20, 2008 3:12 pm Your correct Penny.
Any re-used water needs to be kept seperatly from the other water. So that means seperate pipes etc. Suggest you talk to a grey water specialist plumber. Fall rates etc need to be considered to. And yes it is much cheaper to do it now - let alone very costly to do it afterwards with a slab style building. Steve Re: Re-routing grey water???? 3Jul 20, 2008 3:18 pm Hi Penny
The connection for the greywater, as steve said, is separate. We had installed a greywater diverter off the laundry, but still have not used it. I have a question to steve, What type of underground tube to be connected to the greywater diverter? Dripping type is a good idea, but am concerned if the impurity from the laundry will block the drip. Thanks. Re: Re-routing grey water???? 4Jul 20, 2008 3:32 pm Oznow - It's best to filter the water before you put it into a hose.
There are commercial options around or you could even use an old stocking . Filtering it stops the fibres from the clothes etc clogging up the dripper outlets as you say. I prefer above ground accessible systems so you can get to it and clean it out as needed.
