I friend told me to take a witness with me as hubby cannot get off work for the PCI - I have aq better eye for details anyway!!! That way they cant force you to sign things you don't want to as you have a witness. Filming is also even stronger evidence. Wear a go pro if you have to lol Re: Why do Builders push for PCI when things aren't finished 9Nov 29, 2015 11:32 pm We get 2 PCIs through our builder as standard, we've had 3 but I don't class the first one as a PCI as it was like a WOT (waste of time!!) Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Why do Builders push for PCI when things aren't finished 10Dec 05, 2015 10:02 am Just had PCI and got the report back - OMG - it's 90 (ninety) pages long. My own list was 6 pages long ---- I'm crying. Sucks that your report is so long.. it's heartbreaking.. Re: Why do Builders push for PCI when things aren't finished 12Dec 05, 2015 12:53 pm Sounds like déjà vu maiden!! We refused to class our first PCI as a PCI too as it too was a complete waste of our time and an embarrassment If your house is not practically complete perth girl ie you couldn't live there because no power connected etc then do not accept it as your first PCI Re: Why do Builders push for PCI when things aren't finished 13Dec 09, 2015 12:20 am Nothing was signed. the SS let us in, Myself and independent Building inspector. Hung around less than half an hour and never saw him again. We had to lock the door on the way out - so nothing was signed. He barely said hi to me after I said hi to him. Both report lists have been submitted last week and we haven't heard anything from the builder. Have driven by the site but nothing seems to have changed. The peoblem lists (mine and our Inspectors) were handed in on the 4th Dec. Since then the only contact we've had with the builder is for them to get me running to Bunnings to choose a pantry handle. The SAME one I chose and emailed them photos of in October as the previous one didn't work because they had to change the pantry door. Well the builder closes mid-day on 23rd Dec 2015 - so I guess it is - official we will not be in before Christmas. Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Why do Builders push for PCI when things aren't finished 17Jan 09, 2016 9:06 pm Yes - very bad. We are still not in - and can see that very little effort has been made since handing in the 96 pages of problems ( on the 4th dec 2015) that we picked up at PCI. I absolutely despair. I need to get in the house before Jan 20th so we can prove to the local school we have the house so our kids can start the new school in the 2016 school year. They have already been upset at the thought of leaving their friends. I don't want them being yanked in and out of schools because the builder cant get their act together. They've had nearly 3 years - we are well out of patience. My pci is on Wednesday and I know things are not finished. My house had been left open numerous times so I was able to have a look around and see the problems and asked for them to be rectified. I bet complete strangers had a look around too. My builder asked me to get my building inspector to do his inspection the week before pci. I said no to that. Didn't feel right. Re: Why do Builders push for PCI when things aren't finished 19Jan 11, 2016 2:31 am Yes - that doesn't sound right either. What is it with builders????? Okay sorry silly me, my wife has solves the mystery for me. It’s because the labels on the ports are all wrongly positioned by the builder hence it confuses me. 2 1373 interesting situation what happened after builder issued final invoice? did you list as defect or not does the building surveyor have any responsibility? ie. issuing… 13 46866 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
