Wed - undercoat Thursday- ceiling sprayed, plastic came off windows Friday - door frames and some doors and windows glossed Sat - maybe more gloss?, first coat of colour on bed 4 and half of bed 2 Sun - No painters Mon - rest of the house colour coat including a heap of cutting in. Tues - eaves, porch, alfresco painted, doors hung, plastic removed from kitchen https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 947Aug 15, 2017 9:35 pm That's so bad they think they can get away with two coats of paint when you are meant to have three... let them have it! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 948Aug 15, 2017 11:14 pm Is it possible, that they could have got it done before 11 this morning?? With all the cutting in I don't think they could have gotten two coats done Monday, that would be a super human effort. I think there is every chance our SS just doesn't realise it's supposed to be 3. I think he is relatively new to the company, and may not realise its 3 coats with the allure houses. It also wouldn't be our first purchase order that admin have gotten wrong. We are meant to have another walk through late this week so we'll see what he has to say then. I want to ask face to face so I can read him. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 949Aug 16, 2017 7:42 am You could ask the SS to see the order he raised on the painters just to say check the colours etc but really that order should show how many coats they are to apply. Or you could ask the painters themselves as maybe they were told 3 but only do 2 to cut corners. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 950Aug 16, 2017 10:39 am I was thinking I might try and ask the painters, if they would even acknowledge me, but guess who didn't turn up today! I guess that means they really are done?! Hubby is going to try to get onto SS today and tell him they were painting outside yesterday and gone today, so can we come through to see kitchen issues now? We've decided we are just going to flat out ask him how many coats they did. If he says three, I'll tell him he had better double check, I'll just admit I've been watching closely, tell him exactly what i saw, and see what he has to say. But I fully expect he is just going to say 2, I've had my suspicions only 2 were booked since he told us the timeline last week. Still no down pipes, temporary or otherwise, so after 12mms of rain yesterday we have a swimming pool in the backyard again. Worse then ever this time, I think the ground was still soaked from last time so it's all sitting on top. No chippy this morning either. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 951Aug 18, 2017 12:45 pm It's been a frustrating week, the weather is horrible and no one has been returning our calls so we have no idea whats going on. We finally managed to get hold of the construction manager after leaving a message for him to call back a week and a half ago. He says the plumbers have shortened the straight bit of capping as much as possible rather than going down the box gutter and sump route. Hubby had to tell him NO they haven't! Apparently it should already be done so he was going to go and have a look himself this afternoon. He also had the news that our SS injured himself on Monday and he has no idea when he will be back, great just what everybody needs! That explains why SS hasn't returned our calls and messages about the kitchen walk through all week. CM is going to call back this afternoon after he has been to our house (not holding my breath, but I will be p!ssed if he doesn't, I've had enough, I'm about to no my narna), so I have a prepared a list of our 37 outstanding issues. Hubby is going to probe more and try to find out if CM is now handling our job or if we will be passed to another SS or if we're just waiting for our SS to come back at some unknown point in the future, hopefully we can pass on the list to somebody! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 952Aug 18, 2017 1:39 pm Hey bank, Thanks for the heads up regarding your ceiling and doors heights. They look huge, I'm going to keep mine in the tender. Sorry to see your build is dragging on though, I hope they pull there fingers out of there bums and really get cracking for you. If it's any consultation my paint job on my first build was shocking, the painter must of been half blind (both ways of you get what I mean) I ended up repainting a vast majority of the walls because it sent me nutty. Push them to give you what you have paid for. Love the black mortar with the bricks too, that's something else I'm going to do. Looking forward to seeing the rest all come together for you. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 953Aug 18, 2017 2:12 pm are you lurking outside the site for the rest of the arvo to catch him going in? get a free walk though and escalate your issues. I know in your scenario that's what I would be doing. I know in your scenario that's what I would be doing. Not a bad idea! If the weather was better maybe but it's absolutely horrible! I have to get the kids from school in less than an hour anyway, then we have an outside birthday party to go to, yay, not! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 955Aug 18, 2017 4:56 pm So my husband missed the call from the CM #$%*!!! He left a message saying that the roofers hadn't yet fixed the capping/flashing. No sh!t sherlock! We told you that, you didn't need to drive all the way there to find that out! We have left another message to call back because we want to know what is happening now we are down a SS and that we have a number (ha!) of issues we want to discuss. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 956Aug 18, 2017 5:28 pm I had a house dream last night, we turned up for the kitchen walk through and they were removing the front window and pulling down bricks around it, something needed to be fixed. As the dream progressed more and more of the house was being demolished so that it could be fixed . There was hardly anything left of the kitchen, no roof, hardly any walls The joys of building! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 958Aug 21, 2017 11:07 am I really do feel for you. I don't think it matters who you go with, the painters are just not up to par. Above our butlers pantry door is painted 10cm in gloss . I thought it was a simple ' paint within the lines' type thing. Hope your SS injury isn't too bad, and he is able to get back to your house soon to get the ball rolling. _____________________________ Follow our build with Boutique Homes on Instagram - ourbarcelona_28 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 959Aug 21, 2017 11:23 am Thanks, we're trying to chase up today if it's serious and we'll be handed to another SS or if he'll be back soon. Poor guy probably has a mental injury from being ridiculously overloaded with jobs. We are at our wits end with this build, it's been problem after problem, mistake after mistake. Even with the issues I was enjoying it, but the last couple of weeks have been the straw that broke the camels back, I've had enough. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Painting 960Aug 21, 2017 11:55 am Oh honey... How bad are those dreams?! I remember having one where I took my entire family including extended family of 100+ people out to have a look and they were taking apart out house... I remember feeling so shocked and embarrassed in my dream lol - thank god its just a dream!! I don't blame you for having enough, its just beyond comprehendible they way they have managed your home I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
