Browse Forums General Discussion Re: RING Video Wifi Doorbell - has anyone used this 3Sep 17, 2015 1:47 pm I was looking to purchase a Doorbot last year (the predecessor to RING), but decided against it after reading a lot of bad reviews. I was lucky enough to win an ABB Welcome M kit recently which is basically a door intercom system, however they now have the option of adding an IP gateway which effectively means you can logon via a web browser or an app on your phone to answer the door bell (using your home network). Functionality is very similar to the RING however I also have a 7 inch monitor inside the house that activates anytime someone rings the doorbell. The devices also stores a picture every time the door bell button is pressed, which I can have emailed to me if or a notification pop up on my phone. Just got it installed a few days ago and am very impressed with it so far. It's a little more pricey than the RING system though, however the ability to get clear audio and video to my phone is impressive (I am sure that this is also dependent on your wireless network bandwidth and your mobile phone carrier bandwidth). https://library.e.abb.com/public/9b6766 ... ochure.pdf Just a little something to consider for anyone looking at door intercom type products. The RING product does seem like a very easy installation solution though. Re: RING Video Wifi Doorbell - has anyone used this 4Sep 17, 2015 6:41 pm I am also looking at installing door intercoms and have been looking at the ones below. Not sure what the differences are though. http://www.das.com.au/Products/communic ... s-free-kit http://www.aiphone.com/home/products/jo/ http://www.dorani.com.au/ Re: RING Video Wifi Doorbell - has anyone used this 5Sep 24, 2015 8:41 pm I have one in my new home and LOVE it!
