Handovers was sparse in terms of information. I found some other obvious faults (such as major deep scratches on wardrobe they missed). Mind you though the build was done by a premium builder and possibly why there wasn't so many defects... There was no photos also provided; it was really hard to identify what was the actual faults as well. 2. BCA Group - done it on my house. He was detailed i would agree (i don't quite care about the length) found lots of things i wouldn't even consider. My only gripe with this guy - the *#($&HFX#$ quoted me something over the phone and after the report charged me additional $60. I was quite angry as he said: he couldn't find the street (new estate build so couldn't googlemap it) and had to deal with my property manager so he charged me for that and would hold that against me and report me to the police for non payment???? I was already at the property flying in from interstate and didn't quite trust getting another inspector in and flying down there again Very unethical - the inconvenience didn't justify the hike so i paid it. I wouldn't deal with handovers again; with BCA Group - i'd recommend getting everything in writing so he doesn't do the same thing to you. And ensure you have everything he is going to do in writing. Re: BRISBANE Area Independant building inspectors 38Nov 16, 2015 9:22 am noregrets I wouldn't touch Handovers.com with a barge pole. I worked as an inspector with them and saw some pretty suspect stuff getting passed. And by the way...I had zero experience or qualifications as an inspector when I started with them. I was a gardener one with a council one day...an inspector the next. Training was pretty much non existent. I think the director himself only put a couple of hours training into me. The rest of the so called training was with other inspectors on the job. One was an alcoholic who always smelled of booze, who, as the director said, can't teach, and the other one wrote 'war and peace' novels for reports, according to the director. So, I actually learned sweet FA. The general moral of the place was as low s i have seen anywhere. This was probably due to the way the staff were treated. To give you an idea, at the front of the directors desk was a sign...it said "KNEEL HERE". Anyway, I would say use Handovers.com at your peril. I certainly would not recommend them Really? i thought they were so good. professional, price was affordable and did not hesitate to give helpful information. Was a pleasure to deal with them. Would recommend them to my family. Re: BRISBANE Area Independant building inspectors 39Nov 16, 2015 9:34 am KoalaBare noregrets I wouldn't touch Handovers.com with a barge pole. Oh well, maybe i was wrong. But with social media if you have a gripe with a company or a person you can always get on a site like this and try to destroy the reputation of the said company or person. Maybe that is what has happened with Noregreats Re: BRISBANE Area Independant building inspectors 40Mar 07, 2018 8:36 am KoalaBare KoalaBare noregrets I wouldn't touch Handovers.com with a barge pole.
