I was driving around the estate yesterday and saw some old guy going from site to site and rummaging around. He knew I was watching him so he took off. Also saw a family taking bricks from another site. At first I thought they were looking at their own build but then saw the bricks piling up. I think some of my roof tiles have been taken. There were some left in the backyard and some in the front. All the ones in the front yard that were in perfect condition are gone. Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 70Oct 27, 2015 7:16 am Oh wow that's a bit rude! We found someone had dumped a heap of old shoes and rubbish in our rubbish area.. I'll be ** if someone steals my left over bricks! Hoping to use them as garden edging if the builder leaves them behind. Some people just have no respect. My driveway and path were done by my building company, not sure who the actual contractors are for it. Hayden comes highly recommended by Tribe7...he's a really good bloke, is going to be doing our pool area concrete, he said he also knows some tilers, as we're also tiling the whole area too... Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 71Oct 28, 2015 1:16 am What company does Hayden work for? So far I've seen a mattress, 2 lounges and a toilet dumped on blocks in the estate plus a whole heap of rubbish dumped in the skips that you know aren't from the builds - furniture etc. Good to know people in the area see our sites as dumping grounds for their rubbish seeming they're too cheap to pay for tip fees. Hey jojeke, Hayden works full time for a big company as a concreter but does cash jobs on the weekends. If you would like his number just let me know, he lives up your way. He did our driveway, paths, front portico, laundry and alfresco slabs Re the dumping of crap, it's so bad and annoying. We had a giant concrete Boulder and Tyres dumped on our land and it irked me. Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 73Oct 29, 2015 12:05 am Hi Tribe7 That would be great if you could let me know his ph no. It's difficult to know who to hire for these jobs if you have no idea about the work they've done. Do you have any pics of the work he has done? I've been looking at your thread but can't find the pics. By the way, love your kitchen window. It's the same as what I'm having in my kitchen. Also, your dining table is very nice, getting ideas from your thread. Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 74Oct 29, 2015 12:34 am Hi Waynesaw I was talking to a girl at Opticomm not long ago and asked about the phone connection. She told me they don't do that and to talk to my builder. I was certain they connect a land line. Seeming you're in the same estate and your build is nearly completed, what's the go with your phone line? On their website it even refers to phone lines. Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 75Oct 29, 2015 6:56 am Hi Jojeke, My understanding is they do the connections from the street to your house so as long as your builder has set you up to be nbn ready there shouldn't be any problems. so we have the data cabling, phone lines and TV points installed and connected to the main one in our garage. Opticomm will come and install their box in the garage and they will be connected to these points which will then feed to the rest of the house where we have the points installed etc. The phone line itself or internet connections are through whichever company you choose to use, for example we are probably going to use IINET. Opticomm is essentially like energex, they own the grid for which you can get you service, they don't actually provide the service itself. Hope that helps. Our opticomm is being installed next Wednesday so I can take pics and post for you Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 76Nov 01, 2015 9:17 pm Jojeke Hi Tribe7 That would be great if you could let me know his ph no. Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 77Nov 05, 2015 10:24 pm Update.. So opticomm connection failed cos the rope from the house to the pit wasn't connected properly and the guy couldn't force his wires through, so have to get the builders to send electrician back out to fix it up and make sure the conduit from pit to house is clear. They phoned me later that day to confirm sending someone out so hopefully it'll be fixed quickly. House is looking great... I got to chill out there for a few hours, waiting for opticomm and then the valuer from the bank for final payment so measured all the windows up ready for blinds. Some of the appliances are in and they look great, the washing machine and dryer are in the garage waiting to be installed so that's also very exciting! One week to go! Some pics.. So stoked to find it because I've been looking at masters etc for these as I saw them on the Clark website when I chose my sink.. I couldn't find any for individual sale though. Didn't realise it came with the sink anyway! So yay! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thought I'd test it out hahaha Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ On the home stretch!
