About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctuary

Hi guys,

it's been a long 8 months of waiting for our land to be developed, registered and plans to be approved by council and now it is finally happening... so I thought I'd start up a topic thread to post pics and progress reports on the build...

The site scrape was completed today 16-07-2015 and I am meeting our Pool site manager on site at 7am tomorrow morning to map out the location of the pool and the hole is being dug!! Sounds like the pool is going in super fast, the site supervisor for the build has said the pool company have stated hole dug friday 17th, pool dropped in saturday 18th, monday 20th doing whatever it is they do to secure it etc and then builders can be back on site on Tuesday 21st July! that seems crazy fast, but I'm not gonna complain!

I'll post photos as they progress... very excited first time home builder here!! :z:

so I spent about 3 hours on site this morning sorting out the pool installation, which seemed to happen in record time! Hole dug, pool shell delivered and by the end of the day it was sitting in the ground! feels a bit crazy how fast it all happened, but by all means, I am not complaining! the sooner we can be in our lovely new home the better... I've never posted photos to this forum before, so if anyone has any tips on how to do that, that would be great...

Hey waynesaw, that's one super fast pool installation. Happy days and on with the build

. I find the easiest way to add photos to my thread is by using the app tapatalk, it allows you to upload photos from your camera roll and it's quick.

Oh no the photos don't work, if your using photo bucket copy and paste the photos details and they will show up. Who you building with?

oh really? you can't see them? they're showing for me... hmm I'm using dropbox... used the url and posted it with the IMG button and it showed up, every other time it just said IMAGE after I posted... hmm I'll have another try tomorrow.

We're building with Adenbrook. Pool by Barrier Reef Pools..

If you are using dropbox they won't show for us because they're not public I think. Looking forward to following your build!

Ok so after many attempts I hope I have worked out the photo uploading issue hahaha. Can you guys please let me know if you can now see the photos from my previous posts, I just edited them rather than adding loads of posts with photos that don't work lol

View from the back... needing to put in a retaining wall.. any advice on this would be much appreciated..

Concrete in ready for the coping!

So as mentioned above, we're going to put a retaining wall in along the back fence line because as you can see above ground drops down considerably in the back corner... we're going to use 50mm wooden sleepers with the metal posts between each section.. hubby reckons it'll be easy as.. fingers crossed it is! hahaha

Argh! So annoying. The first lot that I edited are now showing when I view the page on my phone but I now I can't even see the new ones I just loaded so I have no idea why it's working sometimes and not others. These photos are now on google drive and have been made public so I don't understand! I don't want tapatalk as the reviews of the app are pretty dismal at the moment. I'll wait for the hubby to get home and see if he can sort it out.

Ok I am uploading via imageshack as I've seen that's where a lot of other people have uploaded from... fingers crossed this works.. I'll just chuck em all in a new post and hopefully that'll fix the problem..

hooray! thank you! We're going to head down to the site in a few hours to see if they've done the coping yet. The site foreman for the house build also advised they are meant to be setting out the pins for the outter walls of the house today so will be able to see if I've put the pool in the right place hahaha

Yay! It is 10.5m x 4.4m. Is being installed by Barrier Reef Pools. Is a Venice 10.5
