It really starts to look like a house inside once the walls are lined. How many weeks into the build are you now? To be honest, I'd rather not think about that. We are at the 9 month stage today. Gee thats slow Why has it taken so long. We are building a 40 square Rawson (double) - they broke ground mid September and we have an end of May move in date. This week they finished painting and tiles and put the toilets and bath in. We are building a 40 square Rawson (double) - they broke ground mid September and we have an end of May move in date. This week they finished painting and tiles and put the toilets and bath in. Where do i start.... Waited a month for frames to start. Waited another month and a bit for brick layers. Waited about 2 months for the roof tiling to be completed ( xmas new year mess, and woeful supplier) But since the new SS turned up in December 2015, it's been much better. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 247Apr 01, 2016 9:50 pm Building4my3tots Were they contracted to do your place? gandn recommend them for me too, just got a quote from them today. They're apparently the largest supplier in NSW. We got the quote for R2.5 for all external walls and the cost is almost double the R2. So a bit weary to spend that extra bit. With a brick veneer, 50mm void and R2 batt it's pretty good already. The only positive points would be upgraded R2.5 on western and southern walls for extra insulation in my opinion. That's my 2c Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 248Apr 01, 2016 10:02 pm gandn We are owner building fizzed and so it is a part time project for us. We had major hold ups with rain and whilst waiting for brick layer. Nothing was done for 4 months whilst we waited for brick layer and then he took 4 months to lay the bricks. Very unusual so don't base your house on mine. Just trying to make SteveMc feel better! A little bit better. Hahaha. I don't know how you've done it, but after your 18 month journey, it's finally getting close to completion. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 249Apr 02, 2016 5:29 pm Not too bad if you take the out 8 months for bricklayer when nothing else could be done. It ends up only at 10 months which is awesome! Internal skirting, window frames and doors. Stairs on Monday. Kitchen on Wednesday. Then, bathrooms next week. We had the garage door installed and glass in the large fixed windows installed this week ( one panel didn't make it over the stairs as it smashed into tiny grains of sand). Rainwater tank and deliveries. Some work to do here but the vic ash looks great! using Tapatalk Edge39.my-letter-box.com I like you handrail...rough cut pine? And MDF stair treads...very opulent! Heehee! Hopefully your SS hurry up the tradies and finish up you job so they can move on to the next! Have you booked your electricals with Grant? Calvin Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 259Apr 20, 2016 8:11 am Electrical will likely take a back seat for a while until we get things under control inside and out. At least if your brother is the electrical Contractor, the quote never expires . using Tapatalk Edge39.my-letter-box.com Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13447 Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2463 |
