Basel is a summer plant. The rest you can grow in the ground and will look nice. I have Rosemary in our garden. It can get big but I am training mine so that it becomes a manicured lollipop topiary. Definitely inspired me to do something in my backyard! Paving around the grass is a great idea. May I know what type of pavers are you using? I'm looking for something similar. Appreciate if you can provide some details on it. Cheers. Cost was about $49 per sqm.(paving only) Re: WREXTER'S REAR LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - Update Photos 67Apr 15, 2016 3:50 pm Thanks Wrexter. I'll visit Freo Stone over the weekend. Did you lay it yourself or did you hire someone? I wonder if they charge more for pavers like these than ordinary square ones being larger. Re: WREXTER'S REAR LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - Update Photos 68Apr 16, 2016 4:31 pm kabaw Thanks Wrexter. I'll visit Freo Stone over the weekend. Did you lay it yourself or did you hire someone? I wonder if they charge more for pavers like these than ordinary square ones being larger. No i paid someone, as much as i love doing as much as i can myself, there were 4 things i didnt want to do in fear of not doing it right. Sometimes you have to let professionals do it, otherwise you can either make a mess or it takes a long time! I had to get a lot of quotes because they varied so much. my paver didn't charge additional for larger paver but some will. I paid for the following: - Laying Bricks - Render - Paving - Tiling - 240V Electrical installations (from mains to transformers) The rest i am doing myself - Earthworks - Foundations (including mixing concrete manually) - Pizza oven install - Painting - Waterproofing - Misc concrete work (cappings etc, bench seats) - Lighting design & installation (12V) - Retic design & installation - Soil prepration & conditioning - Deck design & build (To be done) - Plan installation (To be done) - Lawn installation (To be done) Re: WREXTER'S REAR LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - Update Photos 69Apr 22, 2016 12:57 pm Soil preparation this weekend! Next up, a bit of tidy up, finish painting and install vertical garden wall. Aim to start the decking in 2 weeks. Hopefully the rain and stay away on the weekends. Re: WREXTER'S REAR LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - Update Photos 73May 02, 2016 7:35 pm Did you cover up the paving? I can't believe it's so clean... I assume those heads are popups, do you have them supported by a paver or Concrete to stop them sinking or snapping off the pvc fixing? using Tapatalk Edge39.my-letter-box.com Re: WREXTER'S REAR LANDSCAPING JOURNEY - Update Photos 74May 02, 2016 11:02 pm haha they look dirty to me! I kept sweeping them throughout the process, the dirt makes a mess, especially when it rains! i will give everything a good clean at the end. Yes those heads are pop-ups, that photo was taken before i dug them in and set them at the right height. They arent supported with a paver, i didnt think of it to be honest. I will dig the dirt up and put something there, thanks for the tip. Although, they are on a articulated riser so if someone did step on them (they are 25mm grass height), there is enough flexibility that they wouldnt break the pvc. For those interested, did alot of research into pine & Jarrah suppliers in Perth and found Absolute Timbers in Wangara to be the best priced. Ended up going for 90x22 Jarrah with 90x45 H3 Structural Pine. They charge no more per sqm if you wanted wider boards. Looking forward to see the finished product. Thanks for the tips. Would you be able to tell me how much you got the Jarrah planks? Hi Kabaw The Jarrah comes in 3 grades Premium (minimal features ) $50 p/sqm Medium (mild features ) $45 p/sqm Feature (high features) $27 p/sqm At the reccomendation of the supplier (Absolute Timber) I went for a 50/50 mix of Premium and Medium as I quick like a bit of feature throughout. This mean average cost of the Jarrah was $45 p/sqm for me. would of been the same cost had I chosen the wider boards. Hi All, see above image.
