In HIA contract under. Site works inclusion point 5 temporary fencing is included. However M have also included fencing cost of $924 under HIA heading Council Requirements!! When queried they said that point 5 saying it was an inclusion was incorrectly inserted!! Re: Building with Metricon 6143Sep 19, 2017 5:22 pm nick_oceangrove Hi about to sign contract. I was not charged anything extra on my contract for temporary fencing. I am in SA. My neighbour is building with a different company, they were going to charge him for temporary fencing so he hired it himself as it was cheaper. Re: Building with Metricon 6144Sep 19, 2017 7:17 pm jessicagauci Renman I don't think it's a hebel issue, more poor craftsmanship on the renderer. My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Sorry I should have worded it differently, definitely poor craftsmanship. The hebel qualities are amazing. It just needs to be installed and finished correctly. I'm doing full hebel and power floor. The XL panels are Xtra Lite so only 75kg per 3m panel. They are brittle. I got M to upgrade my panels to Normal power panel for free. 90kg per 3m panel. I feel your pics are of poor workmanship. It seems M has oversold hebel and there is a shortage of contractors in the market to do the work. So they rush the job to get to the next one and that's what you get. Chipped and damaged render can happen on brick also. That said , this large crack has appeared in the render on my build.... When Hebel power panel was first made, it was 90kg for the 3000x1200x75mm panel. This is based on how it is used and made in Europe, where the technology originated. CSR about 2 years ago decided to make a light version panel in response to builder feedback. Builders were asking for a lighter panel to speed up construction and no doubt reduce cost and increase their profitability. Hence Hebel Power Panel XL. (XL means extra Lite not Xtra large) 75kg for a 3000x1200x75mm panel. You are getting the same panel with more air in it. Just like when you go to starbucks and order the Venti Grande Large Cappucino but it's only really half full with liquid cause the rest is aerated milk foam. The sole competitor to Hebel in Australia is Harpro. Their AAC panels are also 3000x1200x75mm and they only come in 90kg panels. They come from China where their building boom has cooled somewhat and their 5 factories that make AAC panels have idle capacity. You can upgrade and I have it on my home. All you need to do is to say you misrepresented to me the Hebel product. Do not accept the XL panel and say you wish to revert to brick or cancel the contract. You will see they will give you a free upgrade pretty quick. The benefit of having the denser panel is of course increased thermal efficency, longer resistance to fire, Stronger and less prone to Chipping and breaking. Speak to the installers. They will tell you the new XL panels can be broken with your hands. Not so easy to do though with the original ones. it might only be 15kg heavier, but that additional density makes all the difference. [/quote] The one thing I reallly wish I upgraded now is the thickness of the plaster board. M use Boral Sheetrock and 10mm as standard. I wish I went for 15 or 20mm. Makes the plasterboard much stronger and helps add to deaden sound. Apparently it's in the "things not to forget". Was told that it would only be used in commercial builds only. Thicker plaster!! I didn't even know that was an option. 🤷♂️ Yet another case of M not telling you the options that is available to you. I'm building the doulton and because we want to add carpet. They want to use MDF on the stairs? Hubby's not happy with this. As we were never told that's the wood they would use if we have carpet. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Building with Metricon 6158Sep 20, 2017 2:03 pm Hubby just rang the stair place apparently that's what they use for all the stairs unless you upgrade like the display. Gosh even the wood there is upgrading. We weren't even told that. It's pretty expensive he said. Plus it takes a very long time. On the other hand. We bought off the plan. If we had the tour I guess we would have been told these things. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 6159Sep 20, 2017 2:55 pm jessicagauci Feeling very relieved to have had a big boss on site today and agree with my concerns.
