Even an email to say theyre trying to find an appointment would be something. Deafening silence is not so reassuring. Good luck, I feel your pain. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end, Metricon build great looking houses. I found the sales process to be very average with communication and action. At one point I even pulled my build from them during the sales process and phoned the State Sales Manager to complain. They got me back as a sale eventually after some promises were made. Even then it was a bit better but still not great with CSC's on leave and no response, and change of CSC. From what i hear they seem to have high staff turnover which might explain it. Luckily once its gone to site things were better, my first site manager was great, and the second guy is coming along pretty well now too. One thing they are great at tho is sending out bills! Good to hear you are happy (post-admin stage). Its like a challenge, if I can get through this bit then I will have a lovely home. Our sales consultant was really good, right from the first phone call I was really happy to be working with her. We're two months out from settling on our land and I really just want to get this build happening. Re: Building with Metricon 6116Sep 14, 2017 10:29 pm Neville S What would you do If your file along with a number of other clients files were just dumped in an open skip bin on an open site? Metricon was trusted to maintaining our personal details of which were in these files · Names · Addresses · Emails · Contact details · Signatures etc If you had/have the same site manager as me I may have had access to all of these details. Metricon felt it wasn't something to be concerned about. I would list the names and details of everyone's files but don't feel it is a good thing. That is crazy Neville!!! I am actually doubting every step Metricon does this days. The more i see how they work the more i get dissapointed. Besides the huge delay, Quality of the build is not top class, i must admit. And i think my SM is tiered of listening to my concerns which doesnt help at all...uhh wish this would end soon!!! I Hope so BC20, but don't your breath, a week's delay in admin really is just the tip of the ice burg. We've got to over 6 months delay in build, and only after escalating through Site, Construction, Area, Regional and now General Manager have we got traction! Escalation really is your only option, don't be afraid to just keep going- a weeks delay could be a little soon but I don't know the full history. Don't let the delay rush you through the process, use it as leverage to get changes/updates to safe guard you going forward. Eg increase the liquidated damages fee for late delivery of the house. You'll be less upset if each week you had an extra $1000/$800! And maybe M wouldn't delay as much. Good luck. Build thread: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 The problem is that it isnt just a weeks delay. We signed up in February! There was some admin stuff ups that resulted in a long delay before we got to do selections, we only did those in July. We were away for August, so contract was booked for September. ie they had over a month to get the contract preped and failed. And now deathly silence. I cant believe it can take 7 months from first contact to contract.... Took us about 7 months, then another 5 to submit to council and get approval, and M still managed to send the wrong external selections to council......I believe it! Just think you're still just in admin, add on the pain of this sort of response when they are making a mess of your house build and you can see things being done badly, out of sequence etc etc. Lovely house but the journey isn't much fun.
