We've had ours put in the fridge niche behind the overhead cabinet, as it doesn't restrict how far back the fridge can slide. The solar panels.... We're having a discussion about putting the water panel on the west facing roof, as we want as many of our electrical panels on the North facing roof as possible, given we're going to run a storage array, I don't care about heating water, as gas is cheaper to boost water temps than electricity is to charge our batteries. To be honest, we want instant gas hot water, but it impacts the 6 star rating by removing the solar We get solar and instant gas hot water. I'm just wondering if I should move it so it doesn't take forever for hot water to reach the master ensuite. We left ours where it was, figured it's got to go upstairs any which way you look at it... In the perfect world, I reckon instant gas hot water is the best way to go, as you're only heating the water you use... In Melbourne a few weeks ago, evacuated tubes were exploding from freezing - one of the reasons we've avoided solar hot water until now Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building with Metricon 5886Aug 12, 2017 6:38 pm Vet Did anyone put speakers in the ceiling with Metricon? I haven't visited studio M yet so I wouldn't know if this is an option I put the cabling in with Metricon for future speakers . You really need to do this at a minimum before Gyprock goes in . I have 67x12mm architraves and by default (I'm told I need to have the same for skirtings) . I am also planning to install floating floor boards which I just read need to have about a 12mm gap between the boards and the wall to allow for movement / expansion. How does that work????? Does that mean the skirtings/ architraves I've got are too thin????? I certainly don't want to have beading - that looks terrible . Help ? M has done all the stormwater, but only temporarily hooked up two downpipes and anytime it rains I get pools of water around the building. The first time it happened a couple weeks ago I mentioned to the SM and he told me he had asked for another pipe to be connected but it hadnt happened yet, and we had more rain yesterday with the same result, but not as bad. The two downpipes they connected are highlighted yellow, and the areas with the pooling water is in red. Is this a problem I should be concerned about or am I just being too precious about my baby being built? Also there looks like a big stretch of wall with no downpipe. I thought they had to put them in every so often. Once concrete is poured with the correct slopes etc there should be no more pooling of water. Re: Building with Metricon 5895Aug 16, 2017 11:56 am Drew01 NthHome Ok my peps I have a q. I spoke to my flooring people and they said they will leave a 6mm gap so 12mm thick skirting will be fine - no need for beading - whew . They also said worse case they can cut the gyprock and make space underneath. Either way all ok. Re: Building with Metricon 5896Aug 16, 2017 2:04 pm Hi all At what point does the independent inspector do the final inspection? Ours told us after PCI, shouldn't it be just before? Otherwise, if he brings up issues after we sign the papers during PCI, wouldn't that delay things further?
