I'll have to have a play with plans I think I've heard the same thing. Our plans recommend a concrete perimeter path of at least 900mm wide around the entire perimeter of the slab, with a fall of 35mm for every 1000mm of width. (so a path 900mm wide would have a fall of approx 3cm). This was recommended to us when we bought our current house too. I personally think paving looks nicer most of the time but a solid path helps prevent moisture getting in under the slab and the movement and issues that comes as a result. Re: Building with Metricon 3199Jul 07, 2016 1:26 pm vintay68 dulie Quick question, is anyone getting M to do their Rainwater Tanks? If so, when do you need to mention it to them? Yes as its a developer requirement for me. I've added it on the day we paid our deposit with location of it. In NSW, they just put in the tanks as part of the contract - probably to meet BASIX certification in NSW. It can also help slow down stormwater flow by retaining water in the tanks to meet council requirements. For compliance as per AS2870, it is a fall of 1:20 over the first metre, i.e. 50mm over the first metre. If you have issues with slab heave etc, a non compliant fall will be the builder's get out of jail free card. There have also been numerous examples on this forum of the distance between the DPC and the finished surface not being compliant. Don't get caught out too, never assume that a tradie or an ss knows all of the regulations, even the most basic. The concretors association handbook use to and may even still quote a non compliant fall which from memory was also 35mm over the first metre. The CSIRO slab maintenance guide also quotes a non compliant fall. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Cleaner Neater Smarter Cheaper Supa Gutter Pumper.
