Would like to ask for some assistance in regards to pricing between Metro and Designer range. If we decide to choose the Savannah (metro range), we would like to make the following upgrade that is already included for the Laguna (designer range): 1) Upgrade ceiling to R4.0 and wall insulation to R2.0 2) 3 coat systems for wall instead of 2 coat system 3) Deadbolt keyed alike for front and external doors, privacy set mechanism to doors of bathroom 4) square set cornices in wet areas Actually a lot of the other smaller upgrades such as water filter, shower/bathroom fittings & dishwasher provisions etc These are probably minor costs to upgrade but I'm sure they will all add up to a big sum lol. I have seen somewhere on the Metricon forum that the LED downlights cost around $130 each to install by Metricon. We were quoted $1920 for 10? This must be a typo? Btw, does anybody know what roughly the difference in pricing between the Metro and Designer upgrades? Thanks I can only comment on the LED down light package .We have 20 through out the house for 2000. Then we added few more , it cost 100 each . We are in south east Melb . Thanks sunxiaoxuan, I will raise it with SC, pretty sure it's an error. Thanks Hi, if it helps I paid $640 to upgrade to R5.0 ceiling batts (R4.0 were included as standard for me) here in Melbourne. I also paid $3590 for a pack of 40 LED down lights and then $110 for every other down light after that- you pay for a basic batten light and then an upgrade to LED downlight in term of how its priced...from memory. Good luck, J Thanks for the info Jason. Insulation upgrade shouldn't be too bad then. Re: Building with Metricon 3130Jun 27, 2016 8:46 pm Hi everyone, we have our electrical appointment tomorrow....any hints, tips or must do's that you can recommend? Thanks! Re: Building with Metricon 3131Jun 27, 2016 9:05 pm JLH222 Hi everyone, we have our electrical appointment tomorrow....any hints, tips or must do's that you can recommend? Thanks! One tip is remember that you can add motion sensors for lights. It saved us $100 on our entrance as the lights would have been connected to three light switches. Another tip remember that if you put a power point on one side of the wall you could add another to other other side of the wall at a later date. Junction boxes can be very helpful for future lights outside. Neville mentioned main ones Definitely plenty of JB for outside and motion sensors. We did one for Garage totally forgot Portico and outdoor. Oh well can do them later Re: Building with Metricon 3133Jun 27, 2016 9:26 pm Make sure you do any electrical work or get them pre-wired for all ground floor areas and external. First floor electrical is easy to do after handover. It feels strange doing electrical before colour. We have a refrig aircon provision but our SC told us we couldn't have the upstairs and downstairs on at the same time! When we're paying $15k for aircon, I want it to be able to do the whole house and not just half Re: Building with Metricon 3135Jun 27, 2016 10:19 pm JLH222 Thanks, everyone. Does that mean you need 2 refrig aircon units? When we're paying $15k for aircon, I want it to be able to do the whole house and not just half I guess it is regards the zoning , I been told I can not have upstairs and downstairs room configure into the same zone However , there will be no problem to turn on upstairs (zone) and donwstairs (zone) at the same time In my case , I got 4 Zones - 2 downstairs, 2 upstairs.
