We are planning to build a house. We wanted to see if we can hang a hammock in the alfresco. So checked with the builder if we could do it from the alfresco ceiling. They say hanging heavy items from ceiling will affect the structural guarantee.
Then we asked if we could hang some some fancy lights or chandeliers from the ceiling. For that as well they said it will not be possible as it will affect guarantee.
Now we are wondering how people hang their TV from the wall, or put up projectors from the ceiling or even hang the dryer from the laundry wall. Getting a sinking feeling that we are being restricted from getting things we want in our own house.
Appreciate your views/opinion on this.

There's a difference between "not possible", and "affect the structrual guarantee". Realistically if a problem occurs, it's likely to be that if you did something that can be shown to have contributed to the failure, then that will affect the guarantee. However they would have a hard time shrugging off a guarantee on something unrelated. So then it comes down to you to ensure that what you do will not cause a problem, or if it does that you can fix it.
Prior to signing up with a builder, you may be able to get them to design in to support a certain load at a particular point. Our builder is doing this for the A/C unit, and it seems standard practice for them. But the builder may just not want to be hassled by it, and would prefer to fob you off.

Wherever we wanted to hang heavy lights etc, we spoke with electrician and site supervisor. They installed additional trimmings in the ceilings for heavy lights and noggins in the walls to hang televisions. Can you ask them to do the same for you?
